Finally made it over to try the only BBQ place in a 30 mile radius and it was Fabulous Excellent flavor, food was warm and tender, their 3 sauces are surprisingly great. Ordered 2 platters and took some home. The view is relaxing and just a great roadside Gem to grab a bite and enjoy the view. Posted current menu as prices went up a little.

Roadside BBQ joint with outside seating. I was greeted by a friendly staff person who took my order and answered my questions. Within a few minutes my take out order was ready.
The other person in my party enjoyed the smoke chicken sandwich with a side of Mac & Cheese. I enjoyed my Brisket Sandwich as well as a side of coleslaw. I also had a side of Mac & cheese but it wasn’t to my liking as much.
Overall we will go back for more delicious BBQ!!

Best lunch of the year.. deliciously tender brisket sandwich, beautiful burnt ends, side Mac and cheese and the most wonderful view with a crisp cool breeze. What a gem.

Really excellent barbecue! We drive past here regularly and always comment on the cool truck out front, but we finally stopped, and I’m confident we’ll continue to do so. The brisket and pulled pork were both fall-fall apart tender, and the mac and cheese was rich and delicious. A unique side is the “gold digger”, baked beans served on top of macaroni, and it’s definitely worth a try. The house barbecue sauces were also good, they really brought everything together.

Blown away with the level of BBQ. I expected to leave thinking of Lobster Rolls, but the smoked sausage, tender brisket, and pulled pork were out of this world. The spit is roadside to #1, with beautiful views, plenty of seating, and fun yard games.
This is a must-stop-by spot if you are East of Ellsworth!

My family and I had great barbecue, a good brew and a view. What could be better than that?
Really well done food, served by very friendly owners and staff. We will be back.

Went here during their open mic night and had fun with a pretty good dinner. We had ribs, chicken sandwich, brisket sandwich, mac & cheese, and cole slaw. The brisket and cole slaw were outstanding and the rest was decent. I wasn’t particularly impressed with the sauces other than the Carolina-style gold sauce. The price was about right for the amount and quality of food. I was just sad that the blueberry cobbler was sold out.
It was ready very fast, so it would be a good place for dinner after hiking Schoodic or exploring Tidal Falls Preserve.
The staff were helpful and the venue was amazing. Beautiful space out back, with picnic tables and cornhole, and a perfect setup for live music

We loved the food so much, that we ate there two days in a row. On the first night we enjoyed the three meat platters and on the second one we choose sandwiches. The ham and the chicken was good enough, but the brisket and the pulled pork was nothing short of excellent. The staff was very friendly too, some really recommend this place.

Had a lovely visit here on my way to Schoodic Peninsula. Had sampler with smoked chicken, pulled pork, brisket. Brisket was fatty and delicious. Smoked chicken was tender. Pulled pork was decent – I liked the “Mud” BBQ sauce. Ribs was overcooked for my tastes. Sides were wonderful – the cornbread was some of the best I’ve had at BBQ places and the baked beans was well balanced.
Owner and his wife was also very friendly and lovely to talk to, he shared a lot of his local favorite nearby locations. Store also has a very nice crafts section, where they have locally made items for much lower than Bar Harbor. We got a lovely mug from here.
Clean bathroom on site. Outdoor seating has a nice view of fields.

A little bit expensive for what you get. A relatively small side and a plain jane sandwich (literally two pieces of sausage between two hamburger buns) costs about the same as a custom subway sub with chips and a drink. I was slightly let down.
