Gluten free fried fish bites!!!

We found Flamingo Lounge on a gluten free app, and the reviews were right! Our server Spencer was friendly and happy to answer a few questions from us. The Bucket of Butt was incredible. The batter (coconut flour based) was perfectly seasoned and was fried to an impressive crisp in a dedicated fryer. My wife and I shared the 10 chunk bucket and added fries with it.

We also had a couple of their zero-proof drinks and both were surprising. Very refreshing.

Overall, this was one of the best GF meals I’ve had in years. Would highly recommend!

Outstanding experience on so many levels. Matt, the Owner was outgoing and engaging throughout my experience. The food (cheers to the cook) and drink choice was really fun and adventurous. It was a really fun experience eating at the bar, looking at all the history. The bartender was fun to talk to and always ready to make an outstanding drink. Highly recommend stopping by. You will not be disappointed.

Up front I’ll say it was a VERY cold night in Seward. Walking from our hotel to this restaurant was not far but with the wind whipping it would have been wonderful to walk into a warm, inviting atmosphere. Instead we entered, looked around – maybe 5 tables seated and EVERYONE had coats and hats on- bad sign. The server greeted us quickly, we ordered wine then my wife asked if it was possible to turn up the heat. Apparently this was a no no because she got the look of “Oh, not another one of these types– don’t even start with me” She explained that it was an old building and very hard to heat. (I’ll say) So we kept our coats and hats on and pretended we were at Base Camp). Only one choice of salad, the wedge with blue cheese –ok, fine – we went with that and the 10 piece Bucket O Butt (fried halibut). Both items were fine – no complaint there but It’s just plain hard to enjoy a dining experience when it’s that cold inside. We’d been to Woody’s Thai the night before and that place was cozy warm and commented on how nice it would have been if out present location was the same. I know first hand how hard it is running a dining establishment these days and if you have the best food, wine and service it doesn’t matter if you’re not comfortable. I do hope that the Flamingo Lounge in Seward can solve the challenge.

Has character and staff is really nice. We showed up on Memorial Day weekend at the height of dinner time and they let us grab a cocktail standing for a chance to sneak into a bar seat for food before the table could open (1 hour wait). Worked and food was great! Crab is good enough to stand alone so just hope when we’re back they have a full crab entree!!

What a fun and quirky place! The decor is so retro it feels like you’ve stepped back in time. The food menu is relatively limited, but everything they do, they do WELL. Everything we ordered was fabulous. The crab cake was sooo fresh. My only regret is that I got the 6 piece bucket of butt and not the 10 piece! The drinks are also very fun and creative- perfect match to the ambiance. Definitely a must try when visiting Seward!

What a cute spot!! The drinks I got were divine and delicious, I also really enjoyed the bacon wrapped dates on a bed of arugula. Got a seat at the bar right away!

So much fun and they stay true to their theme throughout. It’s like walking into a great dinnner lounge/bar in the early 60’s. We had the black cod and burger with Brie. Service was friendly and perfect. Everyone was so friendly, I wish we had more time to go back.

I heard people talking about the place and wanted to check it out. The place didn’t disappoint. The sourdough bread was excellent. The drinks were good and I really enjoyed my Crab legs, you should also try the halibut, it was excellent as well.

This place rocked. Everyone loved their meal. I highly recommend the Halibut Butts. The serving size was impressive so unless you’re crazy hungry, the 6 piece is plenty.
