Dietary restrictions not accommodated, poor service

Food was very reasonably priced. But if you have dietary restrictions, avoid this place. We tried explaining we were non-dairy but most of the staff barely speak English. We eventually found someone who did and they assured us the hibachi had no butter or dairy. While waiting, we watched them add butter right in front of us yet we had explicitly said, “no butter”, 25sec before.

I understand not everyone speaks English, but at least have one staff member or supervisor who does so guests with allergies or dietary needs can communicate needs. They could at least print out a list of allergens to compensate for the non-English speaking staff.

The last straw was finding hair in our food (see photo). No one seemed to care when we brought it up. The service overall was lacking and inattentive.

The sushi was disappointing too. Between the communication issues, food safety concerns, and poor service, I can’t recommend this place. There are too many other options out there.

Not worth it looks like a lot of good food but it’s just spread apart well.

Not very good service we got our food and walked out
There wasn’t much to chose from to be honest
I want shrimp , orange chicken and others but they and none of that.

Nice clean place but definitely missing the BUFFET KEY…..

Been wanting to come here for years, took an hour but glad we did, food was hot, plenty of choices, service staff very polite and quick to clear table, we went for lunch because Labor Day weekend traffic was heavy, will go again next time on week end. Look forward to the Hibachi Grill

Very crowded. Food is ok. The fried crab is not great. Other than that crawfish is fresh and others are good. Oh this buffet didn’t ask you pay in advanced as the one in Roslindale.

This is how it happened: I took my two kids to eat at this restaurant. Flaming Grill and Buffet located it at 31F
Furlong Dr,Revere MA 02151.When I went to get some soup, I noticed there were no soup bowls left—not even rice bowls. The only things nearby were some plastic cold-drink cups. We used those to hold the hot soup. When I brought it back to my table, I saw the cup had already melted.

I asked a server to bring me a bowl—even a takeout soup container would do. He said he’d get one, but after waiting a long time, no one brought anything. I saw a group of staff standing around playing on their phones instead of helping. When I asked him about it, he said I *wasn’t his customer*.

Later, I called over my server, Eason, and asked him to get a bowl. He told me there were none. I asked, “Not even takeout soup containers? Why are employees over there using bowls for their meals? And why are you using soup containers to hold trash and pens, but have nothing for me to put soup in?” He replied, “We only have those plastic cups. Use them or don’t—it’s up to you.”

It wasn’t a huge deal at first, but his attitude was terrible. The table next to me also said they had no bowls and couldn’t drink their soup. I told the server, “Do you realize melted plastic releases toxic chemicals? Those cups are for cold drinks! I also run a restaurant.” He called me “troublesome” and swore at me and my family in Chinese—probably not realizing I understand Chinese.

I asked for his name. He snapped, “Why should I tell you?” When I spoke to the manager, he offered me a discount. I said, “I’m not here for a discount—I’m telling you this is no way to handle problems. At the very least, that server owes me an apology.” The server refused to apologize and even said, “Go ahead and complain—see if I care.”

I told him I didn’t want to argue and paid the full bill before leaving. Attached below is some evidence.

The food stayed hot and was replenished often at the bar. Wide variety of food. Asian and American. Hibachi grill and suchi bar to go along with the huge regular bar. Many tables. Fruit and dessert bar was excellent and fresh. My only complaint would be I never got my drink refilled. They never offered so I never bothered to ask. But my cup was definitely empty. Good location and big parking lot. Trucks and buses have plenty of room to park.

First time here, came on a Sunday a bit after it opened. It wasn’t crowded so there was no wait, the place was filled with fresh food, the environment was great and beautiful and the bathrooms were very clean. We were greeted and the staff was nice and the food was hot and amazing!

However, after finishing eating there was a waitress who brought back the bill and after giving it to me, she kept insisting we leave a tip and she stood there waiting until we left one. So my relative decided to just leave a $10 tip. I think it’s great to leave tips and everyone should because it shows support and appreciation for their service. But considering it’s a buffet and it’s not the same as a restaurant where someone is bringing you your food and is your waitress, making sure you are taken care of during your stay, I really found it unnecessary to leave one since she was just bussing the tables. She wasn’t serving us so I don’t think it was necessary. At the very least, asking in a polite manner rather than making the atmosphere feel so awkward just standing there and being pushy about leaving one would have been nicer.

Other than that, it was an amazing, cozy experience and it wasn’t very loud. I don’t consider it to be really necessary to leave a tip though, other than if it’s for the food. (My personal opinion)

Pricing: about $18 per person for dinner

Getting seated: When you first walk in, they give your number and the line moved pretty quickly.

The food offering: Wide range of food. There’s a hibachi station, and a sushi station. You can see them make the sushi right in front of you. They have a lot of seafood offering: Mussels, soft crabs, crawfish etc. Variety of chicken served different ways. There’s a full salad bar, a fruit bar, and a dessert station. There’s also a dedicated fridge for different ice cream.l offering.

Con: There was not enough beef or other meat offering.

Service: Timely. They do offer plastic utensils you just have to ask your server.

Atmosphere: There was ample parking. Very timely refills of clean and hot dishes. They continually cleaned the serving area regularly. A lot cleaner than most other buffets.

This was one of the worst buffet experiences I’ve ever had. The customer service was absolutely terrible—staff were rude, dismissive, and shockingly swore at a customer, which is completely unacceptable in any business, especially a restaurant.

The bathrooms were filthy and clearly not maintained, which immediately made me question the overall hygiene of the place. If the bathrooms are that dirty, I don’t even want to imagine what’s happening in the kitchen.

As for the food, the quality was very poor—lukewarm, tasteless, and looked old. Several dishes seemed like they had been sitting out far too long. Cleanliness and food safety did not seem to be a priority at all.

Between the rude behavior, dirty restrooms, and low-quality food, this place is not worth your time or money. I would strongly recommend avoiding it.

This is a decent self-service buffet restaurant with a large variety of food. There’s plenty of space and a lot of people. This is my second time here, and I might come back again. I can’t say I loved everything 100%, but I did get full. The cost of dinner was no more than $22, not including tips…
