We recently renewed our vows and celebrated with a family dinner at Flames Bar & Lounge in Monroe—and it was truly unforgettable. From the moment we arrived, everything felt warm, welcoming, and perfectly handled.
The owner, Meta Rugova, was incredible, and his wife was absolutely the sweetest. She greeted us at the door with such kindness and made us feel right at home. She was so accommodating and genuinely made our special night even more meaningful.
We had about 30 guests, and everyone was raving about how delicious the food was. The staff was perfect—attentive, professional, and on point all evening. Even more touching, his kids were part of the staff, and they stayed right by us the entire night, making sure we never needed anything and that everything was perfect.
Our whole family was beyond happy, and the hospitality we received was something you don’t find everywhere. Flames made our vow renewal celebration something we will always remember.
If you want amazing food, incredible service, and a place that treats you like family, Flames Bar & Lounge is truly a 5-star experience. Highly recommend!

Unfortunately, the service didn’t match the quality of the food. While the all-male staff was efficient, they lacked warmth and personality. For example, my mother mentioned it was the birthday boy’s dinner, and the server responded with “What do you want to order?”—no acknowledgment, no “Happy Birthday,” nothing. That’s a small gesture that goes a long way, and it felt really dismissive.
We also felt rushed—someone started clearing the table while I was still eating my appetizer. That kind of vibe can really take away from the experience.
Bottom line: The food is outstanding, but the staff could really benefit from customer service training and a reminder that hospitality isn’t just about getting plates on the table. It’s about making people feel welcome, especially when celebrating something special.
In addition, the food is excellent to match. Grilled octopus and zucchini flower appetizers were delicious and I really enjoyed salmon entree I ordered.
The service was solid, and the restaurant itself is very clean — definitely appreciated that.
For my entrée, I ordered the New York Strip Pizzaiola: grilled steak with peppers, onions, mushrooms, and a Barolo wine sauce, served with mashed potatoes. The mashed potatoes were really good, but I wasn’t a fan of the Barolo wine sauce — it just wasn’t to my taste. The dish was okay overall, but I’d definitely come back and try something else on the menu.
For dessert, I had the crème brûlée — and it was absolutely delicious! Perfectly creamy with that crisp, caramelized top. A sweet ending to the night.
