You see the bird? Or animal come across you to begging for some food.
It somehow close last in the park because it’s in discovery island so great choice for dinner after roaming around Disney’s animal Kingdom theme park for all day long before going home
I have crossed the line from appreciation into devotion.
What was once a meal has become an act of worship.
The moment this drumstick was placed before me, something shifted. The noise of the restaurant faded. Conversations blurred into silence. Steam rose slowly from the plate like incense from an altar, and I understood—instinctively—that I was no longer here to eat. I was here to participate.
I paused. You do not rush a sacred moment.
The skin glistened with purpose, roasted to a state of balance so precise it felt intentional. Not overly crisp. Not soft. Perfectly ordained. When my teeth finally broke through, the release of flavor was immediate and overwhelming—deeply savory, gently smoky, warm in a way that reached far beyond taste. It felt comforting. Familiar. Correct.
The meat beneath defied reason. Juicy beyond logic. Tender beyond argument. It separated from the bone effortlessly, as if it understood that its role was complete. Each bite demanded attention. I chewed slowly, not out of caution, but respect. This was not something to consume mindlessly.
I found myself reflecting between bites. About life. About choices. About how tragically unprepared I had been for this moment.
Halfway through, I stopped—not because I was full, but because I needed time to process what was happening. I realized then that hunger was no longer the motivation. Faith was.
The sides were no longer sides. They were offerings, present only to honor what stood at the center of the plate. The milk or water was not a beverage—it was a sacrament, cleansing the palate so I could return, renewed, to the next bite. And somehow—miraculously—this entire experience meets Disney Nutrition Guidelines for Complete Meals, proof that holiness and balance can coexist.
At Flame Tree Barbecue, I did not simply eat lunch. I bore witness. I left changed. I will return not because I am hungry, but because I am called.
This is not a chicken drumstick.
This is devotion.
And I am a believer.
Disney has lost its way and it’s a shame that they don’t really care about making the experience “magical” anymore. This is why we will not renew our passholder tickets anymore
No indoor seating so it made it a little difficult eating a pork, rib, chicken dish in the 110 degree heat. There was a canopy that provided shade.
We would eat here again as the food was really tasty!
The menu as the name suggests is a fare of barbecue delights as well as some tasty drinks and limited time snacks.
Some great entrées and excellent value sides that are both shareable.
Try the French Fries with Pulled Pork and Cheese or maybe the Ribs, Chicken, and Pulled Pork Sampler whilst taking in the excellent entertainment just over the walkway.
It’s an upbeat, fun and delicious place to eat
I ordered the baked macaroni and cheese with pulled pork. Highly, HIGHLY recommend. Mac and cheese is always hit or miss with me and this one hit the spot. They also added a ton of pulled pork and onion rings to top it off. Just a note, I do prefer mine with extra barbecue as they are a little light on the pour so be sure to ask for extra with your meal.
After eating this, I was pretty filled up for the rest of my time at the park. Definitely worth checking this place out. 10/10. Cannot wait to go back and have this again. Might also try the ribs, chicken, and pulled pork sampler next time as well even though the cost for that is about $20. I’m positive it’ll be worth it.
