Went for lunch today (11/29) and the food was overall pretty solid, but the service definitely needed support. There was only one server working the entire dining area, and it was obvious she was overwhelmed. A man behind the bar stood watching but only stepped in once to help while we were there. I found it baffling that he didn’t help more. I get wanting the primary server to keep the tips, but it shouldn’t come at the expense of basic customer service.

We wanted to ask for chopsticks after our food was served, but our server didn’t return to check on us until we were nearly done eating. When we asked for to-go containers, it took another 15–20 minutes because she was so slammed.

Food rundown:

Crispy duck (half): 3/5
Skin was pretty crispy, but a lot of pieces had thick layers of fat that should’ve been rendered out better. Open Rice’s crispy duck is significantly better.

Beef chow fun: 4/5
A bit underseasoned, but the beef was tender and the noodles were cooked well. Could have been more generous with the bean sprouts and scallions.

Beef fried rice: 4/5
The beef pieces were a little too large for fried rice, but tender. Odd that pork isn’t offered as a protein option here, which is what we usually get. Offering char siu pork would be a major plus on the menu.

Sesame chicken: 4/5
The steamed broccoli was cold for some reason, but the chicken itself was tasty.

Overall, the food is decent and we’d consider returning if we lived closer.

This was our second time here and the food is as consistent in flavor as the last time, if not, even better! You can definitely taste the wok hei! We did try one item from the dim sum menu (pork spare ribs in black bean sauce) but didn’t care for it because the ribs needed to be cooked a bit longer. The service was also fantastic. I can’t remember our servers name but she was attentive and checked on us frequently! Flame is probably our favorite Chinese restaurant around CLT area. Wish the location was in a better place because I think it would be so busy! Can’t wait for our next visit!

The food here is fantastic great. I haven’t tried the dim sum yet, so I can’t compare it to other Charlotte spots, but based on what I ordered, I have high hopes that it’s excellent.
The only downside was the wait. They were dealing with a staff shortage on my visit, so service was quite slow despite the servers best efforts. I’d recommend waiting a month or so to visit so the new staff can get fully trained. Once the service speed catches up to the food quality, this place will be way better than Lams or Open Rice.

This restaurant has to improve their service.

We visited after a Chinese gala show because it gave a 10% coupon (otherwise, we planned to go another place).

First of all, there are many empty tables, but we are asked to sit at the bar. Even after we finished eating, most of those tables are still empty.

Secondly, when we presented the coupon to the bartender, he first said we cannot use it until March, which is wrong, the coupon is valid until 3/3. Then he asked someone in the kitchen and came back told us that we cannot use it unless we are a member of some group.

I’m very disappointed about that. There are tons of people just watched the gala show and visiting this place because of the advertising. There is nowhere on the paper mentioned membership is needed. I think this is actually a great opportunity for the restaurant to leave a good impression for customers (they paid for ads, right?) Why would the owner make the use of coupon so difficult and impossible? It’s just not a pleasant experience.

Plus, food is so-so, location is inconvenient, waitresses not professional (she brutally said “you need to sit at bar”). I’m not visiting again, there are many other good choice in Charlotte.

Absolutely incredible experience!

I had the pleasure of dining at this amazing Asian restaurant in Pineville, NC, and it completely exceeded our expectations. The food was absolutely delicious; fresh, flavorful, and beautifully presented. Every dish we tried was packed with authentic flavor and cooked to perfection.

What really made the experience stand out was the service. Amy, the manager, was spectacular! So warm, friendly, and attentive she truly made us feel like valued guests and went above and beyond to make sure everything was just right.

The atmosphere was just as impressive; inviting, cozy, and stylish, making it perfect for a casual dinner or special night out.

Highly, highly recommend this spot if you’re in the area. You won’t be disappointed. We will definitely be back!

The experience had its ups and downs. The service took a bit of time, and the chicken gyoza appetizer wasn’t as warm as we hoped. The orange chicken was a little chewy for my taste, but my wife enjoyed her beef lo mein, finding it quite tasty. We might consider giving it another try in the future.

Food was absolutely disastrous..no flavors ,no spice nothing ..uncooked chicken wings

Update : I want to clarify my experience. The chicken wings served to me were undercooked, which is a serious food safety concern. I brought it to the front desk and asked why it was served that way. I was told that this can happen when the restaurant is busy. However, at that time there were absolutely no customers, even though it was supposed to be peak hours — that’s what made me question the explanation.

The item was replaced after I raised the issue, but this was not a “courtesy” or special favor. It was simply a replacement for food that should never have been served undercooked in the first place. Portraying it as a complimentary gesture is misleading.

I’m sharing this so others are aware. Food safety and honest communication should always come first.

Tried this place for dinner and both of us were disappointed with the food. The portion size was average but the food was very bland and sooooo oily. I gave up halfway through because it wasn’t worth eating. Our waitress was not friendly or attentive. I had to ask for a water refill after she ignored us for quite some time. Waste of a date night.

Modern restaurant serving a wide variety of unique Asian fusion dishes. Food quality and service were excellent. We had chicken gyoza, Shishito Pepper Beef, Lo Mein, and Silky Egg Seafood Hor Fun. The beef was very tender, no gristle. The seafood tasted fresh and tender. Signature cocktails. A great new seafood alternative in the Pineville/Fort Mill area.
