Went here when I returned to Aberdeen. It was one of my Dad’s hangouts when I was a Kid. Used to be called ” The Millwalkee” Bellied up to the bar to have a shot of whiskey in rememberence of my Dad!
Owner came to the table and we talked abour the old days, turned out he is friend with my cousin.

Overall a middle of the road, nothing too special restaurant.
We started with onion rings. These were ok but definetly frozen.
I thought the chicken wild rice soup was good.
I had a filet and fries. I ordered the filet med rare and the cook level went from a rare to medium within the steak. Now I can have a steak at any of these temps but it should be consistent. The fries were seasoned but these too were frozen.
I didn’t try the bread.
The bread pudding was great.
Meal size was good.
In general everyone in our party had a good time.
Service was very attentive.
The interior could use updating. The popcorn machine is great.

Mmmm, Flame! Wanted the Surf & Turf, but they were sold out of the Crab stuffed shrimp, so I went with the Bacon wrapped Chopped Steak. It DID NOT DISAPPOINT!! Cooked to my specifications, despite looking a little extra done > it wasn’t at all. Writing this has me craving FLAME food again. Surf & Turf next – although their Reuben has been twice recommended by 2 Different people >

Very friendly service. A very simple menu with a nice selection of foods for most appetites. I got the French dip au jus, it was very good. Loved the crispy fries! Every one else in our party of four enjoyed their lunch as well (wrap and a crab cake sando..or something like that).
No complaints. Dining area is one I appreciate. Resembles an older dinner atmosphere (loved it because it reminds me of my childhood). For those who want a bar, they have a full bar and lots of seating. We ate with a friend who works nearby and frequents Flame, she said the food is always good. I would agree from what we ordered.
Stop in and give it a try. We are from Sparks, Nevada. Lovely town.

Old time restaurant, needs a good cleaning. Table was sticky, tiles around vents in ceiling black, rug is old. Food average, but very busy (seems to be a favorite for lots of people). Staff friendly. Tenderloin not tender & over cooked & slightly charred (asked for medium rare). Other meal in party meat overcooked also. Augraten potatoes were mushy with peppers pieces, not my style.

This place has gone WAY downhill since the last time we were here.
We will absolutely NOT be going back again after the food and service we received the other night.
Place was absolutely dead aside from our table and one other and we still waited a loooooong time for our food.
Server did not come back to refill drinks, did not bring bread, and said we weren’t supposed to get bread because a bread stick would come with our pasta dishes.
We ALWAYS order this same pasta dish, and we have always gotten bread before.
We don’t LIKE the weird deep fried breadsticks that come with the food.
As a former server, and on a night where you have NO business, I would have just brought us the bread we asked for. Instead we got an attitude for asking.
Once the food arrived, the steak that was on the pasta looked and tasted like steak that had been cooked another day and reheated. We asked for medium rare and the steak was well done, probably because it was old reheated steak.
Couldn’t tell the server or send it back, because after looking for her and waiting 15 minutes she never even came back to check on us.
We honestly should have just walked out.
Needless to say she was not given a tip. I am DONE giving tips for bad food and REALLY bad service. And again. As a former server I never do that, but this night was an exception. You cannot dump lousy food on someone’s table then not even come back to check on them. Especially when you had literally no other tables. The other table had a different server.
Wherever management is hiding in this place, you really need to get it together and watch your staff.

This is a Stalwart in Aberdeen. They have a good groove with competent staff. Always a good and solid experience. If you’re looking for a flashy, shiny experience, be disappointed, but if you want a solid steak and good experience, that’s reasonably priced, winner!
