It was quite when I visited but had good ambience with music playing in the background. The two waitresses working were welcoming, helpful and polite. The waitress answered my questions about the menu and made good recommendations based on what I asked for. I chose the picanha steak which came with two sides. I chose the arepas and tostonos. A few minutes later, my food arrived and the steak was on a sizzling platter. The steak was seasoned perfectly and tasted great. The arepas were very good and the giardinelli served went great with the tostones.
I asked for red wine and there were two different choices, a Pinot, and a Merlot. I chose the Merlot. It went great with my steak.
Prior to visiting, I read about the added tip prior to seeing the receipt. I didn’t have the same experience and I chose the tip while I paid.
Overall, it was a very good experience, dinner was great, and a great value!

First the food is amazing no issues at all with food. Everything was juicy cooked well. But after that it’s very mid for our experience. Online on google it says it has rooftop seating. Which it doesn’t. 2 they charge 11.99 for small cup of sangria and it’s some cheap carbonated version from a bottle. Next I understand this is a Hispanic/latin restaurant but they did have anyone that spoke English at first and our server ignored us because she couldn’t speak with us which leads to the next part. Our server and service was maybe a 4/10. But without any warning or signs stating so we get our bill and it had automatic 18% tip. One we are a party of 4 and the service was sub-par. On top of that they tried to hide the tip and get you to pay and add more ( they don’t give a receipt they just had you a handheld device to tap your card so you can’t see your bill. It wasn’t until noticed the bill didn’t add up that they went back and told me they included the tip. So in the end great food, great atmosphere, but we had terrible service and overpriced drinks.

Good quality food. The place was so dark it was difficult to read the menu. My $19 arepa was initially brought on accident with no contents. Their arepa is extremely skinny and a small diameter. They took it back and filled it with the steak, chicken and cheese. I got it back with plenty of contents, but the arepa itself was tiny. It should have been bigger for the price. My biggest gripe is the forced gratuity of 18% for a party of 2. I usually tip 20% – 25% or so, but when you force a tip, that is all you get. It was also hidden that they were doing that. I was shown a handheld electronic device asking for a small tip of like up to 7% and my signature. I had to ask why the tip choices were so small before they told me the 18% is included automatically. For this reason alone I will never return. Tips must be earned, not forced. They also don’t want firearms in their business. That is their choice of course, but I also have a choice of where to eat, not here.

Flamas Restaurant has truly delicious Venezuelan food! The lunch plates they serve are very tasty, fresh, and healthy. And the best part is the price — great quality food for a very affordable cost. Definitely a place worth visiting!

How is it possible for a restaurant to be 10 minutes away, and prepare my food fresh, but have the food stone cold when I pick it up on time? Toppings were tasty, but tostones were full of grease. Really disappointed in service. Won’t order again.

Great experience!! great customer service and amazing food. Tried the skirt steak and it couldn’t be any more perfect.
