Flako’s was great in every element I could hope. Went for lunch with my wife and our baby and the service couldn’t have been better. So attentive and kind, and included a visit from the owner! They clearly take pride in making it a family friendly establishment. The food was excellent, very fresh and well seasoned fajitas, juicy and sweet shrimp, and I can’t stop thinking about how good the onions were! Homemade chips and salsa was a great touch. Can’t wait to go back and try more of the menu.

They recently opened near our house so we tried them out. The Food was great and the price was reasonable. There was a big menu selection and we will come back to try more of it.

It’s been two months since my original review. I decided to walk over and try Flako’s again this evening, and I’m glad I did.
Tonight, I had the Enchilada’s Supreme and it was really good! Perfect amount of sauce, chicken, and beef had really good flavor. The refried bean enchilada was surprisingly, my favorite. The cheese enchilada was also 5/5.
The place was nice and warm in this cold weather. The owner stopped by and checked on my food and service several times. The waitress was really nice. I didn’t try the queso this time, but the salsa was excellent. I’m changing my rating from 4 to 5 Star.
He has made some positive changes and there really wasn’t anything I could complain about. The meal was full of flavor and the atmosphere was nice! Give this place a try. I’ll be back in a few days when I am craving Mexican cuisine!
I stopped in for lunch today. The owner stopped by and was really nice. I ordered the Burrito Supreme and queso for the chips. The Burrito Supreme was really good. The ground beef had good flavor and the rice was 10/10.
I was disappointed in the queso which is why I am giving 4 stars. I will go back as I live around the corner. We need a good Mexican restaurant around here and I’m hoping the owner reads reviews and can get better queso.
Food prices were good. Portions were perfect! I’ll post a menu Pic.
I did feel $4.50 for a diet coke was a bit high.

Our bill was $188 for what was honestly some of the worst “Mexican” food I’ve had. Completely bland. No salt. No pepper. No seasoning. Not even a hint of lime or citrus. Everything tasted flat and unfinished.
The nachos were sitting in a pool of grease. I could have taken a picture of the oil left at the bottom of the plate. It wasn’t rich or flavorful — just heavy and oily.
The prices made it worse. $20 for a margarita that was mediocre at best. $13 for what they call guacamole — and honestly, Chipotle makes fresher guacamole. $20 for a quesadilla that tastes better at Taco Bell. That says everything.
To top it off, it took 20 minutes just to get the bill.
For $188, this was completely unacceptable. Overpriced, under-seasoned, and not worth it.
This place can absolutely be skipped. I won’t be back.

Standard Tex-Mex type food; very solid and tasty for what it was. Nothing unique about it but that’s totally fine. Good, affordable, and casual food in the neighborhood – which can be hard to find these days. Only a few servers on a Tuesday night, and not much kitchen staff, so it was a bit slow, but server was friendly and helpful. Wasn’t too crowded when we went. Would go back for dine in or takeout.

This new spot where Tracy’s used to be has some big shoes to fill. We came here for dinner and were not disappointed. The menu has anything you could want and they had no problem with some substitutions I requested. We got a large house margarita, it was a little on the pricey side but was worth it. I highly recommend the chorizo queso (chefs kiss). We got mostly beef items, the beef was perfectly seasoned. All of the ingredients were fresh. Our waitress was attentive and friendly. The price is spot on for the quality. If you’re looking for some high quality authentic Mexican cuisine, this is the spot. They have a large bar with big TV’s to watch sports if you just wanna stop by for a drink.

We were excited to try this new place and even more excited that the food was great. Really good food and a menu that will have something for everyone. We had the happy plate and the taco pizza. We also had the house margarita. I always worry that the house margs will be too sweet but it was the perfect balance. I would come back just for that, even to-go. Highly recommend as a new local spot.

Stopped in for a quick lunch and it was one of the best Mexican places we’ve been to since moving to New Orleans. Food was amazing, clean inside, timely service. Very sweet server. Will be back!

I went to Flakos earlier tonight and it was great!! Great staff, great food, and the owner was very kind and attentive. I don’t usually write reviews, but I’m somewhat of a biased person when it comes to authentic Mexican food since I’m from San Antonio, and this place hit the spot just right!
