The food here is solid, but I was really put off by a board in the back that’s clearly visible from the dining area. It lists employees by name under “did not upsell?” and other notes that feel like public shaming rather than coaching. As a customer, it makes the place feel more focused on squeezing upsells out of staff than on creating a positive, respectful environment. I hope management or corporate will address this and move to a more professional, private way of giving feedback to employees.
A meal for 1 person with fries and only a single patty is approaching $19. When I went into Five Guys, there were only 3 people working and they were all busy the entire time I was there. Tables weren’t cleaned but that’s because there wasn’t enough people there to clean tables.
Maybe focus on customer experience and reducing menu item prices instead of trying to nickel and dime customers. Bless the employees who make almost nothing, who have to put up with these shaming tactics.

It’s been several months since we’ve eaten here. I am going to have to question management here because employees should not be gathered around to complain about a customer who brought in a complaint. Nor should customer have to bring up a problem with the soda machine 3x’s over the course of a visit, for an employee to say “My manager did nothing is wrong with it.”
The food was not well flavored, the fries were soggy, portions are smaller, no trash can in the lobby. (Just a small hole by the condiment station.) This makes it hard for customers to clean up after themselves which promotes a dirty dining room.
But again, the staff. They gathered to discuss how a customer who had came in and took a to go order came back and wanted his fries recooked. The portions was too small for the amount paid and the quality was bad. He was upset because the young man working cashier has no clue how to handle the situation. That is a management issue.
The complaints about the soda machine. Clearly after 45 minutes if there is an issue where the flavor is not being dispensed and all you can taste is carbonation, you do not shrug and say you don’t know what to say.
Owners, please Look at this store’s numers. If they’ve dipped, I think this post would help to explain why. Customer service is a starting point for sure, followed with managing that things are running according to operation standards.

Where to start, the place was clean, the customer service was the best I have experienced in a while.
The food… well after visiting a fast food place right down the road ,I didn’t have high hopes…I WAS WRONG!!!! BEST BURGER AND FRIES EVER!!!

Went to pickup a meal for myself and a friend in the hospital at the Gastonia location. Got a bacon cheeseburger a bacon burger and a large fries. Spent about 40 bucks that included a 10% tip for takeout. When I get there I waited while my fries were cooked got my order and prepared to leave. Until I see I have about a about a half to almost 2/3 cup of fries. I turn around and say something and Michael says there in the bottom on the bag. I look and whats in the bag still wont fill the cup up. I say come on man this is supposed to be a 8 dollar fry, Michael then proceeds to hand me a cup with 6 more fries in it. I’ve eaten at multiple locations with not just an over flowing cup but more in the bag. While I know the extra isn’t necessary at least make sure my cup is full please. Gastonia I won’t be back. I’m in CLT enough to wait until I’m there. Pics below

Excellent burgers. Loved that this place had freestyle pop! Also had delicious unsweetened iced tea. The restroom was clean. This is the largest 5 guys that I’ve ever been to!

The food was great today, but fries were a tad bit to salty today. Normally, not like that!
Tables needed to be wiped down, but they were a little busy today.
They also offer outdoor seating that has a covered patio, so not directly in the sun if hot or for those people like me who don’t like to be cold.

Great stop for lunch on our road trip. We ordered online from the road and dined in. Team was very friendly and helpful. Restaurant was clean. Food was on point! One of our best Five Guys experiences, for sure!

This place is just a rip off I don’t know how they stay in business Bad Daddy’s burgers across the street is cheaper and way better. Or you could go to a fancy restaurant in downtown Gastonia for the same price. It use to be a good concept pay slightly more for fries and get a big size portion that’s bigger than any restaurant but now the fries are more expensive than any restaurant and they barely give you any.

Fresh meat!!! Fresh fries!!! (Cooked right in front of you) Can add a variety of toppings to your Burger or Hot dog. Great customer service. Worth the wait and price. Good portions and I always have extra fries because they give you more than enough. Best burgers!!! Don’t waste money on McDonald’s and etc…. JUST GO HERE.
