I’ve yet to try the shakes, but many people ordered them with their meals.
However, last night we went and the manager of the store walked out on the other two employees while there were 13 customers in line to order and over 10 others including myself waiting on our food.
Not only did this affect my family and other customers, it put a lot of pressure on the only 2 staff members left to try and cook everyone’s meals, as well as turn others away. Phones were ringing off the hook and they had to give them the bad news.
The doors got locked and unfortunately over 20 customers in the time I was still there were turned away. We were told that there were no back up managers to come in and support. I spent $100 on my family of 5. We were unable to get refunded or a gift card because the two employees didn’t have access to the register now that the manager left.
It was chaotic for the employees and I waited 1.5 hours for my burger.
I wanted to bring this forward because of how unfair that was to the employees. Not just to my family. They went above and beyond and handled it the best they could. I did give them an extra tip because they deserved it. Five Guys is lucky they even stayed and put up with it. Corporate needs to do better or they will go under.
Thanks!
Now they have so much turnover it’s impossible to get a consistent product.
They also used to understand the importance of out of this world fries.
Now you get a little bag of overcooked crap.
When your whole business is based upon 2 things, either one of them can ruin you, and Five Guys has shown time and again they’re not willing to properly teach their workers how to provide the Five Guys experience.
What’s worse is that there used to be some system of accountability where you could possibly bring an issue up to corporate, and they’d make sure to rectify the situation.
Now though it seems that when a single person pays 25 dollars for a meal, and that meal is indeed ruined by bad fries, instead of replacing the meal, I get sent a 10 dollar gift card.
This tells me exactly what FG corporate has become, and where the franchise is heading.
I’ll be making my burgers at home from now on.
Completely ridiculous.
