1 star overall due to the fact that I had to take my z x ribeye home to cook it. Originally I asked for medium rare and the steak I was brought was medium well to well done. So I ate my baked potato and vegetables and waited for the waitress to come back. Finally someone in our party said there she is, so I walked up to her with the steak and let her know that it was closer to well done than medium rare. She asked me if I wanted another one and I said I would appreciate it and thanked her. A few minutes went by (just a couple) a man comes out and says cut that to see if it’s correct and then informed me that the last one that was brought was medium rare and that I was wrong. He told me to cut into it and when I did it wasn’t cooked at all. Placed on the grill and instantly flipped just to char the outside. I told him that wouldn’t even classify as rare. He tried to defend himself and I just told him just leave it. Long story short I’m on my way home to fire the grill up to have a cooked steak. Out of state customer and due to the actions of this one cook I wouldn’t recommend this place to my worse enemy if they are wanting a steak!!!

A group of us went here for a family birthday. We told them that when we made the reservation. There wasn’t a bartender and no one knows what they have. (Keep it simple with beer or easy cocktails.) Dinner went along ok. But before we were even done eating, the server started to talk about dessert and the birthday girl’s free ice cream. We wanted this to be a surprise but oh well. The birthday girl has a gluten free diet for health reasons and it turns out the ice cream had wheat so she couldn’t eat it. So the server said she c the poorest example of customer service I’ve ever seen. I tipped because the server handled juggling our table of 7 fairly well up to the dessert, but it was all very disappointing and our night was ruined. We wouldn’t recommend this place for special occasions. What a joke. It’s just a restaurant for locals.

Decided to take my mother out on a date here to cheer her up and we couldn’t have had a better experience!

It’s not always easy to find restaurants that are so accommodating as this one. I have two kids, a toddler and an infant and they helped make the experience so seamless.

The staff were all incredibly welcoming and lighthearted, making us feel right at home from the second we walked in the door even though we were running late for our reservation. Our server was also incredibly attentive to our specific needs, making sure we were doing well often and made sure not to bring my toddler’s sundae before he was far enough into his meal even though it was getting late for the restaurant. They even helped us take some pictures to remember the day and had such wonderful attitudes towards my kids.

The food was delicious as always! I ordered the Alfredo with chicken and it was perfectly portioned and creamy. Thinking about the chicken still makes my mouth water! It was perfectly seasoned and moist. The sweet raspberry tea was also surprisingly yummy and didn’t taste watered down at all. My son had the grilled cheese which he had fun tearing into tiny pieces and counting meticulously. The sundae he got even came with whipped cream and sprinkles which he was very excited about!

Overall, Wandering Pines has never failed to create a welcoming environment and a great dining experience. Will definitely come back again!

Nice log building with knotty pine interior. Possibly the only eatery in town that takes credit cards in 2020. Pleasant atmosphere and service. It was somewhat quiet when I ate there. There is a small attached bar with taps and a couple tv’s. Otherwise, has a good small-town diner feel. Close to Lake Ore-Be-Gone for divers.

Amazing food, service, and atmosphere! My mom and I stopped for lunch and it was a 10/10 experience. Our waitress was attentive and kind, always checking in on us and making sure our drinks were refilled and we were comfortable. The vibe and atmosphere was very welcoming and we loved the interior decor. The food was so delicious and fresh we ate every last bite! We look forward to our next visit here.

Cute mom and pop type dinner. Clean, bright space, food was pretty good. Pretty dated, but fits in up north. Service was great. Fish fry highly recommended.

Wandering Pines is the BEST restaurant in the area! The fish fry and everything on the menu is amazing! You couldn’t ask for better service! You are always greeted pleasantly, with a big hello, and a smile from the staff and the owners. I love the atmosphere and everything about this restaurant!

Was excited to try this place, but unfortunately it wasn’t a great experience. We waited nearly an hour to get our food and the best tasting part was the salad. My wife asked for her steak mid rare and it was well done and looked like a hockey puck. The walleye dinner was barely edible came without breading. The fries were soggy from the scoop of mixed vegetables they threw on the plate. On top of the food not tasting great the bill was $80 dollars. For that price I expected a lot more. Definitely won’t be coming back here.
