Nestled right on the waterfront of Breton Bay, in Leonardtown, MD, our family-owned restaurant has been a beloved local treasure since 1993. The FitzGerald’s have built more than just a place to eat- we’ve created a welcoming space where families gather, kids play in the sand pile, and boat days are spent. We take pride in our crab cakes which are packed with fresh, local crab meat -no fillers, just flavor- and our creamy crab dip has a following of its own. Lesson learned – eat outside by the water! We probably would have given a 5 star for Atmosphere. We ate inside on the bar side and it was SO loud! It was late in the afternoon on a Sunday, so one would think it shouldn’t have been so loud, but the arrangement of the room and a couple of apparently drunk men made for an uncomfortable experience. We had avoided outside because it was so hot with storms coming in. The staff were generally fine and the food was pretty good. Hush puppies were our favorite, really! Steamed shrimp were big and good. I’ll add photos later. The waterfront setting on Breton Bay is really nice though and people were coming in from their boats.

Really nice views of the water. Seafood was pretty good, service was pretty good as well. Had salad with crab, pound of steamed shrimp, and blackened salmon. I will say there’s a lot of flies in the dining room which makes it challenging to eat while constantly waving your hands to keep the bugs off your order. I think it would help if there weren’t large gaps in the window between the air conditioners. Nonetheless, I would probably eat outside rather than inside next time. I would have probably enjoyed it more if I ate outside.

Our first time visiting and it will not be our last! Absolutely loved this environment and staff! We sat outside and the view was magnificent! The view alone makes me want to go back! Staff was so welcoming, kind, informative and just friendly. The food was good. We had appetizers and meals. We all enjoyed our food.
I must rave about the crab dip pizza appetizer. It could have been a meal all by itself and it was delicious. The hush puppies with honey was outstanding and plentiful.
Looking forward to my next visit.

We tried this place two weeks in a row. The first time was opening weekend and everything was coming out incredibly slow. It was a little better when we came back the following weekend. Appetizers were awesome both times we went, we especially liked the spicy hush puppies. Dinner the first weekend was a miss all around, both for the time it took to get it and the quality of what we received (no pictures of the food as we devoured it immediately given how long it took to get it!). Main courses were significantly better the following weekend so it appears that they shook the rust off from reopening. Staff was very friendly, just not as attentive as they should be. On both occasions we had to go to the bar to get our drinks after waiting a very long time (wasn’t that busy). Above all else , the location is amazing with great views and a great vibe. Overall the second trip redeemed our first try, so we’re looking forward to trying it again soon.

First time ever coming to this establishment , I guarantee you it will not be my last . I actually spoke to the owner when I was done enjoying a meal on the beach side with the water less than 2 feet from my feet . My server was exceptional he made sure that every concern was answered and every bit of my meal was perfect or I would like to say spot on . After my dinner speaking to the owner she was so lovely I could not convey the happiness that me and my date had from her establishment I encourage you please visit this restaurant it is phenomenal exceptionally profound.

Very nice and cute! Very great place for selfies and pics in general. Nice calm and cool environment, more for adults not children. Great food! I love love love the crab dip and bread and the chicken wings. The scenery, food and the atmosphere is what pulled me in lol

Delicious crab pizza and crab balls! Fresh squeezed orange crush. Great scenery. Only a 20min boat ride across the river from Va. friendly service and lovely white sands beach dining. I’ll be back to Fitzies.
