One thing to know in advance: customers are required to order through the drive-through window—even if you’re dining on-site. According to the friendly staff, this rule exists because of their insurance policy. It helps reduce liability by keeping all customer activity within designated drive-through zones. So even if it feels unnecessary, you’ll need to circle through with your vehicle.
After picking up your food, you’re welcome to sit at the picnic tables scattered around the grassy lot. That’s exactly what I did—enjoying a hearty plate of ribs, sausage, potato salad, and beans. The portion was generous, the flavors smoked to perfection, and the price very reasonable ($20 all-in). My only gripe? The flies. It’s Texas, it’s summer, and it’s open air—so come prepared to defend your meal.
Overall, if you’re looking for honest BBQ in a low-key setting, Fitties delivers. Just follow the rules, bring bug spray, and let the smoky flavors do the rest.
This place has long been a solid and trustworthy Bastrop-area staple, for BBQ (highly recommend the chopped beef sandwich), and breakfast tacos.
This review is about breakfast tacos though.
If you need somewhere to make your daily breakfast stop: FITTIES
*EASILY* one of *THE* most *cost efficient* and *DELICIOUS* nutrient dense breakfast spots in Bastrop. Their breakfast tacos are 3 items for under $5. They are huge (like, actually heavy, compared to big city breakfast tacos that you pay $9 for). I get the double bacon egg and there’s something like two whole eggs in there, each item cooked to perfection. My mind is blown. JR and his people really know how to make beautiful food and give the people something memorable that’s worth their money, worth their time and worth coming back for more. God Bless Fitties!
