Historic brewery in Duluth. It is buried inside the old brewery which now hosts several businesses. The tap room is in the old barrel room which is a great environment for having a beer or two. If you have a big group they have some overflow space.
On my stop they had 8 of their beers on tap including: an apricot wheat, starfish pale ale, an American lager, oatmeal stout, hazy IPA, sour dragonfruit, another lager and a dunkle that is really quite good. Everything is pretty good but nothing really blew my mind. They do serve food in the barrel room which is great. Service is good and they have a full bar for those less inclined to breweries. Stop and have a good time.

My wife and I went out for a nightcap and stumbled upon the Fitgers Brewhouse. Very cool building and space.
When inside, we encountered the barrel room and found a table. We sat patiently for about 15 min while the bartender talked with the 4 other patrons in the bar. We eventually went to the bar directly and got our drinks. Never were we greeted or offered any service. Nice drinks, terrible service.

Please do not go here if you are under the age of 30. We went here for a date around 6:30pm, Saturday Nov 1st. The bartender asked “are these real?” about our ID’s (we are both 21 years old), and told us then “the serial numbers look weird”. Stared at our real IDs for a solid minute. We were able to show second forms of ID to confirm our birthdays and he made our drinks. An apology for this misunderstanding would have been appreciated.
We were not helped or spoken to again until the check came, so he obviously didn’t deserve an outstanding tip. He then looked at the tip that he received and said “oh are you proud of yourself buddy?”
While we understand the importance of checking IDs, we felt uncomfortable and unwelcome because of how this was handled.
Please train your workers to treat their customers kindly, and not filled with ego.

Our bartender Alec was very welcoming and entertaining. Drinks were perfect. We had bacon cheese curds with chili Aoli and it was full of great flavor. We will be back.

My husband and I hosted our rehearsal dinner at The Barrel Room earlier this month and we were so happy with the level of service we received from Tom, Marci and their team. Not only were they fully accommodating while initially booking our event, during our event when we needed to provide a few guests additional meal options The Barrel Room team was flexible and allowed us to order directly off the menu. The meal options were affordable, delicious and served on time. I would definitely recommend holding an event at The Barrel Room!

We stopped in to pick up pizzas to take back up to our rooms. I had an NA beer, Two Roots. Great! One friend had a gimlet, with thyme. The next night he had a similar gimlet, with basil.
We came in on Fri night of the John Beargrease Sled Dog Marathon, last weekend in Jan, 2023. It was busy, but still pleasant. The pizzas were delicious, also– one sausage, one mushroom and green olive– hand- tossed crust.

This place is so inconsiderate of other businesses within the building, they don’t deserve a good review no matter what their food tastes like. You are not the only business. Your space is not large enough to have music so loud it is heard and felt two floors away. I don’t know how people within the space can hear their own thoughts.

A cozy bar that is quiet on Sunday evenings. Friendly staff and a nice selection of beer/cider. That atmosphere is great. Comfortable chairs/couch make a great spot to drink a beer and read a book. Exactly what I was looking for.
