What a delightful place for a very full tummy at reasonable prices. I WARN YOU the Marion Berry French Toast is HUGE and could be shared by a table as a desert. The chicken fried steak is homemade no frozen patty to be found. The breads, sourdough, cinnamon rolls, buns and more are all made in house. We met the owner, daughter and a great grand daughter well we ate. If you want a home-cooked made with love dont pass up this little Oregon coast treasure.
We truly enjoyed meeting you all.
Wishing you well from Little Kitchen that just had to butt in over turkey and cinnamon roll dough.

This place is worth trying. The workers seem to be juggling a lot, so be patient. We ordered the marionberry French toast as well as the chicken fried steak. The steak was a tad chewy and the gravy could use some more flavor. But all together the food was great.

Great place to grab a meal! A true family restaurant with great food. We ate Marionberry French Toast, Biscuits and Gravy, and Fish and Chips. With seating outside we were able to bring our dog with us. We will definitely come back when we visit Newport again.

Wonderful food and service!! Family owned and operated for 3+ generations! Very filling and enjoyable food. Only thing that would have improved my experience was beverage options. Got coffee that was out of ratio. 1 small creamer “shot” had it very blonde and a light tan. I didn’t see any tea options or other hot beverages on the menu, may have been on the back page. Never made it that far.

We stopped in here for lunch on a busy Saturday about 1:30. The wait was minimal and the service awesome. Everyone in the party reported their food was great. I had the pastrami on sourdough. The bread is made in-house and you can tell. Soup was chicken and dumpling and also great. We’ll definitely be back.

Five stars aren’t enough for this gem!
The food was absolutely delicious, and you can tell the tea is fresh and high-quality, not just an afterthought. But what really sets Fishtail Cafe apart is the staff—they are amazing and so welcoming.
Honestly, the whole vibe made me feel like I was back home at Momma’s house. If you’re looking for incredible flavors and that warm, “home-cooked” feeling, this is the spot. I’ll definitely be a regular!

Wonderful fish and chips. Perfect crispy batter. Super good French fries and coleslaw. Good lemonade. Salmon hash was also perfect with potatoes! Crab cake platter was tasty.

This was a good breakfast option for my stay in southern Newport. Food was excellent, but service not very attentive. Prices have risen to match others in the area. I would come again, the stuffed french toast is amazing!

The CFS was amazing! Hand beaded and huge! Their marionberry jam is delicious and their homemade bread? Wow! I had the hot pastrami. It was absolutely delicious. It’s on their homemade sourdough bread. Their fries are also really good! I am not usually one to love fries, but these had a hold on me! Good portions and prices and service. Definitely pay them a visit!

Interesting cafe. Food was alright, lukewarm and biscuits were dry. Atmosphere is ecclectic and a bit outdated. There was one person working when we went so service was so, so slow.
