Got the Saag Tofu (amazing!) and Malai Kofta. Some garlic naan, somasas and a mango lassi. Everything was delicious. Ordered mild which was no detectable spiciness at all. Prob tailor your spice levels to USA spice levels ♂️
Was plenty of food for two with some left to take home 🙂
Dónde bath (thank you in Nepalese I think)

Excellent location, service, and atmosphere. I loved the cauliflower appetizer my friend shared with me. So very yummy. My lamb vindaloo was tasty but didn’t rock my world per se. I am in the area occasionally and definitely want to come again and try more!

It’s an absolute DELIGHT to dine at Fishtail. I moved to the area a few months ago and had gotten takeout, but I dined in recently and was blown way by the food, the service, and the staff. My group had several different dietary restrictions (vegan, gluten free) and their menu is very well labeled. There are so many options for dietary restrictions and our waitress Sharmila made sure to double check all of our orders and write down all of our dietary restrictions for each item. She also made great recommendations in general. The food was delicious and I ate my weight in vegetable pakora. 10/10 experience but for sure the best was our wonderful waitress Sharmila who made us feel right at home. Can’t wait to be back!

Fantastic food and friendly staff – highly recommend! We were so happy with everything we ordered – and the portions are quite big too (especially the naan).
They gave a complimentary veggie soup when we arrived which was so nice on a cold evening. Ordering was tough because there are so many amazing options! Will definitely be back.

I’ve never been to this place before, as I’ve always only ordered takeaway. However, it’s become my go-to Indian food spot, and I love them. I usually order the same thing, but this restaurant is the only one where I feel comfortable trying new things. I know they’ll cook it right. If I ever eat something here and don’t like it, I know it’s just because I personally didn’t enjoy it, not because the restaurant cooked it wrong.
Himchuli RiNo used to be my Indian spot, but it’s declined in the last two years. This place has lifted me up from my melancholy and hunger and made me very happy. I love you all a lot.

What a gift and a treat for Capital Hill. Fish Tail is a delightful and delicious taste of India and Nepal. The menu is large. We decided to buffet. We took small amounts of many dishes to taste the large variety of vegetable, and equally large number of meat dishes. I really like sweet potatoes and butter chicken; my friend really liked lamb curry, vegetarian samosa, and chili chicken . Everything was flavorful and delicious.
We were treated with friendly and courteous service. Our hostess and server gave joy fullness and pride as delightful and delicious as our dinner.
Buffet is every Friday, Saturday, Sunday.

Wow my fiancé and I were blown away by how delicious our meal was at Fishtail. Some of the most flavorful Indian food I’ve ever had! The owner and his wife were so friendly. Our new favorite place in the neighborhood! I highly recommend trying a the chicken tikka masala and lamb dumplings. Sooooo delicious!

The place is brand new. Very clean, friendly and delicious. The Naan was excellent, the honey curry chicken was good. The other dish my wife ordered was delicious. Rice was perfect. For 4th day open they did a very good job. We will go back. We miss our old favorite Yogis that was on 17th but this was the closest to that. Please do us all a favor give them a try. Help our neighborhood sustain an Indian restaurant. Please don’t be too critical they just started. For those who pour heart and soul and a life of savings to open a business it’s not easy. Consider all the places that closed due to the pandemic. We’re lucky to have this new space.

We live walking distance to Fishtail and we’re lucky we do! We normally get take out, and the amount of food you get definitely leaves enough for leftovers to eat for another day or two.
The food is delicious. The spice is perfect.
Those who work there have always been so kind and welcoming. I just had a plate and even though I’m so full, I want to go for seconds already.

I’ve been looking for some Indian cuisine that would be as good as the experience I had, in Japan of all places, with it. This was that!
I ordered the Chicken Tikka Masala with Garlic Naan, Tandoori wings and Mango Lassi. They gave me a complementary soup and I also got rice with my curry. The Tandoori wings were so juicy and flavorful, the curry was delicious and thick the naan was great with it. Everything was amazing and it took me back. I highly recommend this place. If you’re like me and you had indian food in Japan and are looking for that experience, this is the place.
