Dropped by for a Huge Catfish Sandwich. The name says it all. The fried catfish fillet was huge, big enough for two sandwiches. It was fried perfectly to a deep golden brown, crispy crust, tender and juicy inside. You have a choice of bread and I chose rye, with 2 tartar sauce cups. It’s a delicious catfish sandwich. I look forward to trying their chili and soups my next trip. The atmosphere was very friendly, like a family operation. There is interior seating for a few people with additional outdoor seating, which seemed very comfortable. Great job all around! I’ll be back!

The fish was fantastic. Mac and cheese bland but good. The service was great. Everyone was so friendly and inviting. Sitting outside was very enjoyable as well. Definitely would go back for the fish.

First time visit…delicious food. No frills…clean and quaint. The server was helpful and friendly. Steady crowd traffic at lunchtime. I would recommend the fried cod fish, and the onion rings were the best ones that I’ve ever eaten!

My first visit at the Fishery was delightful! Open atmosphere. the staff (Trina) was upbeat, warm, and inviting, as well as the cashier. Now, my 3piece cod dinner with double green beans was tasty. Crispy batter on the outside, fried to perfection on the inside. The cod portions were a bit on the thin side.

Nothing fancy, not a huge selection, butcwhat they serve is very good and very reasonsble. Order at the counter, wait for your number to be called and collect it at the window. Thecfish is veery good, and thevportions are generous.

I was in the St. Matthews area today and was hunkering for something different. So, I decided to stop in at the Fishery. Now I tried their chicken taco with pico de Gallo. It had corn in it which threw me for a loop!!! But I’d say don’t judge before you try it. It was delicious. It balanced the spicy of the Sriracha and jalapeños perfectly.
Then I went really basic lol we had chicken tenders and fries. The tenders were nice crispy and fresh even after sitting for a few minutes they were steaming so they had to be made to order.

First time here today. I got the grilled Cod and shrimp with Mac and Cheese and Green Beans. It was pretty good. My little sis got the fried catfish and fried shrimp. wirh hush puppies and Mac and Cheese. She really enjoyed hers as well. We will definitely return.

We got a large to go order this past Saturday and it was packaged so well! Everything was still piping hot when we served it. My family loves the fish and all the sides. The onion rings came highly recommended and I’m so glad! They were wonderful! This little fish place is a great experience, try it!

I guess I’m in the minority on this place. The fish sandwiches were just on par with what I would expect to get from a Catholic Church fish fry. The onion rings were, well rings…of fried batter – very little onion in them. Shrimp tacos were three pieces of (pretty good) shrimp on a tablespoon of corn and onion bits with three jalapeño slices. Oh, well: the locals seem to like it. Live and learn…

The Fishery has some of the best fish in all of Louisville, KY. The Fishery has been in St. Mathews since 1983. The staff are very kind and the Resterount is clean and has plenty of comfortable seating. If you have not tried the fish platter or fish sandwitch meal here you are truly missing out. I alwlays order fish, but recently I ordered crab cakes, they were filled with amazing authentic crab meat and tasted so good. Everything that I have ordered at The Fishery is great! The chicken and dumplings soup is amazing too. All that I have left to say is, pass on all of the other fish places, drive an extra couple of miles, try this amazing fish restaurant, you won’t regret it!
