We went there several times a year over the past 20 years. Food was always great and fresh. HOWEVER, last time we went, I didn’t even get to finish 1 piece of fish due to cockroaches. I understand it happens in almost all restaurants. But 5 were spotted in 1 visit (on buffet, table, and wall). I told an employee, but they didn’t seem concerned.
It was very disappointing due to it being one of our favorite go-to places for us as a couple, with friends, family, and large groups.
Due to them being open only 2 days per week, I don’t think it’d be to difficult to do a deep clean and pesticide treatment.

Hands down the best buffet around! The brisket literally falls apart in your mouth. Fish is so flaky Homemade hushpuppies that are out of this world. My husband and I literally drive an hour just to eat here.

This place is worth the price of admission! This fish buffet is the best I have ever been to. Everything was perfectly prepared. They brisket melts in your mouth. Fresh cut French fries are piping hot.

A few of the items could have used a little more salt for my taste, but if you like fresh, clean, great tasting, perfectly fried fish, this is the place for you. The potato salad was great, and the baked beans were as well(though I’ve never eaten them with peppers in them before, they were a nice addition). The staff is friendly and the atmosphere was chill. Nice elbow room. Big, open space.

Has everything you could possibly want! Brisket, fall off the bone ribs, juicy catfish, hot links, fried okra, sweet & spicy hush puppies, peach cobbler, apple crisp and blue bell ice cream… WHAT!

I was impressed! We haven’t been in a long time because when they first changed hands, so did the fish and we didn’t care too much for it. But ya’ll served other good food and everybody deserves a second chance. I’m glad we did because the fish was well worth it!!!

This was my first time coming to fish tales, I loved the catfish, the shrimp, and the chicken tenders.
I would highly recommend trying the shrimp in particular as it was very good.
Also everything that was served there was NOT over fried which is something I have noticed that alot of seafood restaurants seem to do, but not fish tales.
So in conclusion, I would highly recommend this place to my friends, family, and ppl in the community who are into seafood like me.

It was the first time me and my family had been there. Good food and plenty of it, definitely worth the trip. We will definitely be coming back again.

We have been going to Fish Tales for years. The original owners cooked the fish to perfection every single time we went there. The people who own it now do pretty good, but I find that the breading on the outside is often overcooked, which makes it too crunchy and I can’t really taste the fish on the inside. The shrimp are good, the polish sausage, and ribs are perfectly cooked, the sides are all good but the brown beans lack any flavor. All in all, it’s ok, we come back every couple months or so. If you haven’t been there, it’s worth a try.
