The food was delicious. I got the crispy chicken with Brussels sprouts + Mac and cheese (the Brussels sprouts were the best I’ve ever had). The steak was so tender and delicious. The drinks were great. And overall a good price for everything. The service was great and they were very attentive and kind. Highly recommend this place.

This place is beautiful and the view itself is worth some of the food not being that good.
I had the shrimp and grits and it was very weird. It wasn’t bad, but also wasn’t amazing – S&G have to be amazing. It was tomatoy and had some pieces of meat, not what I’m used to, specially compared to what you get in NOLA.
Our waiter was a little bad too. She would disappear at times and we had to wait a looong time to ask for something. The bartender was great.
The rest of the food my group ordered was very good-hush puppies were super tasty.
I recommend this place. The service and the food not being what I expected I think is a minor thing that just needs some adjustments.

Fish Out of Water is one of the best spots on 30A for an upscale yet relaxed meal. The views of the Gulf are incredible and the atmosphere feels both refined and welcoming. The staff is attentive and professional and the service matches the quality of the food. Post church Sunday brunch here is the best with fresh dishes beautifully prepared and served with genuine hospitality. It draws a high clientele that appreciates great food great views and an easy coastal vibe that never feels pretentious.

Dinner was delicious! I had the coconut crusted halabet and my husband had the herb crusted chicken. Both were absolutely delicious! Our families had the red snapper, the shrimp and crab cake plate and the Mediterranean salad. They all raved about the dishes! Key lime pie was amazing! Try with a sweet vanilla wafer crust and vanilla bean whipped cream – delicious!

This place was incredible. Wasn’t there for drinks and happy hour prices were really good and reasonable had an incredible view. One of the best restaurants on the water in 30 a. Highly recommend it happy hour. I had some really good deals little limited.

We had an amazing experience! There was no weight when we arrived, although I would highly recommend you calling ahead. The restaurant sits right on the water and has beautiful views of the Gulf. I am gluten free and I love that they had a gluten-free option for me. Our server, Jennifer, was awesome. The atmosphere was peaceful. The food was delicious. Highly recommend!

We had a great dinner last night at this restaurant! Jevorn was our waiter and he took wonderful care of us.
The restaurant is very nicely decorated and the seating was very comfortable.
We had the fish tacos and the grouper sandwich. Both were delicious and the side salad was much larger than expected! It was great as well – especially with the balsamic dressing.
I would love to come back during the day to see the ocean view. With all the windows facing the ocean, I am sure it would be a great place to eat and enjoy the view!

We went here after seeing the good reviews and the beachside scenery. The scenery did not disappoint and most of the food was very good! We highly recommend the mac and cheese and the bacon and pimento. We also really liked the shrimp and grits. They mentioned a new menu was started only the last week and I think they have some things to work through. I also think the fry oil was dirty, all the fried items were kind of sub par in taste and quality. I also had to send back a piece of fried chicken because it was 80% breading with almost no chicken. All of the salt brined chicken was served extremely dry. We were also served a $40 beef filet cooked well done all through the middle. Having to send entrees back and wait another 15 minutes ruined the main course in my opinion and I have rated as such.

Disappointed ☹️ Fish out of Water cannot be trusted for allergies! While they asked all the right questions and say they take all of the precautions … my meal was NOT prepared gluten free. When the runner delivered my sandwich, I asked to confirm that it was gluten free and she said yes. But thankfully I waited for the server to comeback by … he also said that he told the kitchen about my allergies … I had to ask him to confirm with the chef because the bun looked too good to be gluten free. It was NOT gluten free. My companion waited for my meal to be reprepared resulting in a cold meal. At no point did management come to or by our table to address any of these issues. If you decide to try Fish Out of Water, be very very very careful!!! I will not be back – it’s not safe.
