I wasn’t going to review this restaurant and intended to keep it a secret, but it really does deserve a good review!!!
In an urban backwater, this restaurant offers simple but amazing tasting and perfectly cooked fish. The staff are brilliant too, attentive, informative (a special thanks to Freya & Sebastian). All this on a busy Friday night.

Leaving 5 stars because of the potential. The food varies each time from very good to average (when average chips too hard and greasy, fish greasy). Please be consistent. Also fish portions are small. The best solution would be to charge customers for the size of the fish. This way you do not feel robbed if it’s a smaller piece on the day you visit. With these changes would be an excellent option. Staff friendly.

Family of four ate lunch here today. We arrived at opening time. The service was mildly friendly, efficient and professional.
The food however was a mixed bag. We ate grilled and fried fish. My wife’s haddock portion was really small but tasty. My cod was a good thick portion but undercooked and needed to be sent back to be cooked more. The waitress handled it well even though the chef thought it was fine, but it wasn’t as the texture was slimy and the flesh was pink on the middle on one side. My son’s breaded cod was good, not great but a decent size. My daughter’s fish fingers were okay. The chips were very good and I thought the salad we got with our grilled fish was fantastic.
The decor inside was very dark but the chairs were comfortable. The inside was cold (outside was about 13) and some of us near the folding doors sat with our jackets on. Also from the moment we walked in it smelled strongly of fish but not in a good way.
The place seems popular with locals especially considering it was a Tuesday lunch time. Unfortunately even though I live locally, I won’t be going back again as there are better options for this sort of money.

Definitely try this restaurant; the fish is fresh and delicious. I will certainly return again. One piece of negative feedback: the fish smell is too much, which is understandable. If only there were heaters or blankets at the outside tables.

Absolutely top notch fish… go for the classic fish and chips or grilled with new potatoes. Both ways are fab. Lovely halibut, cod, hake and more. All beautifully cooked and reasonable prices. A nice drop of house white to wash it down. Highly recommended.

Thought this looked like a good fish and chip restaurant with a fishmonger right next door…..won’t be going back again, the fish was tiny I’ve seen bigger child portions. Even worse because I asked for a large cod and was told they only do one size, I trusted it would be a fair size but when I got home and saw it I was shocked. Chips are not the fresh usual chip shop type but obviously frozen and overcooked, even dousing in vinegar couldn’t soften them. Totally unsatisfied so I’m off for a fillet o fish to fill the gap.

Good quality food and drink – the battered cod was just right. Proper fish and chips! Also, the staff are friendly and efficient, giving recommendations from the menu. All Covid-19 safety measures were in place. Will definitely visit again, Thanks!!

My son really enjoyed his grilled lobster! Cute little place, great fish and couteous staff – definitely a gem and very lucky to have them in the neighborhood! So much better than large chains.
