Fish King Seafood Restaurant & Market

I say that this restaurant is a hidden gem in Brownsville for seafood. It’s a market as well as a restaurant. I asked and was told the fish and seafood is bright in fresh daily. The good tasted outstanding. The fried fish was not oily at all. It was lightly breaded, not like other restaurants that cake the bread crumbs to wear you can eat the oil and breadcrumbs. I had the Florentine bass/ mix and it was very good. I like the fact that the fish market was next door and the fish used for restaurant is picked from there. Reminded me of I visited Spain when I was in the military.

We LOVE coming here. Best Seafood Restaurant in Brownsville, hands down. Honestly, probably in South Texas. We love seafood and have tried many different places. But, none like these.The food is freshly made and delicious!The waitress is a younger girl and she’s absolutely fantastic, Karla. She is amazing!

We got the Mariscada for 2 and a Fish Taco and Soup . Amazing!

This is the best little restaurant in Brownsville. Everything we have tried has been amazing, the staff is very friendly and they are always cleaning, which is a bonus. We always feel like friends of this family owned business. When we come to town and before heading to Padre Island, we make sure we stop and enjoy this one of a kind hidden gem!

You have to be aware it’s located at the light. We turned into Jack in the Box by mistake, but my husband drove on the shoulder of the street to get in their parking lot since it’s right next door. It’s small & cozy. Very friendly server, FRESH HOMEMADE seafood & aguas frescas. We choose our fish from the fish market & got it cooked the way we wanted it. They serve while you wait for your order a delicious fish broth. I can’t get over how fresh the seafood was. My husband also got excellent ceviche tostadas too. Loved it. We will definitely be back when we are in Brownsville.

Delicious fried Sea Bass and shrimp dinner, with rice, fries and salad. Authentic, Mexican-style shrimp cocktail! We sat outside with our dog, but there is a nice dining area upstairs.
