To customers’ faces, the employees and even the manager act fake-polite and overly nice, putting on a performance. But while I was seated there, I heard and saw—word by word, in real time—how they spoke to a delivery driver. There was no misunderstanding, no assumption. I heard exactly what was said and how it was said.
They spoke to the delivery person with open contempt, belittling them, dismissing them, and treating them like they were nothing. No professionalism. No respect. Just arrogance and cruelty. Watching this while sitting there made it painfully clear: this is how they treat people when they think it’s “safe” to do so.
Even worse, immediately after, I witnessed staff mocking customers behind their backs, laughing and making comments once people turned away. That kind of behavior doesn’t happen in isolation—it reflects the true culture of the workplace. Fake smiles in front, ugliness behind.
The food sadly matched the environment. It was greasy, low-quality, and shortly after eating, I became physically sick. I also saw what appeared to be old, dark oil being reused, which is beyond unacceptable and raises serious food safety concerns.
This place shows its real face when it thinks no one important is watching. Disrespecting workers, mocking customers, unsafe food practices—it’s all deeply disturbing.
I would not recommend The Fish District to anyone who values basic human decency, worker dignity, or food safety. This is not just a bad restaurant—it’s a bad operation. Avoid it!!!!!
PROS:
First, the ingredients are FRESH and HEALTHY, especially fish such as salmon and Mahi-mahi. Since I was looking for a place where I could find various options for my healthy diet, it was a great place. Second, I really enjoy the food and the reasonable price as well considering quantity and quality. Third, there are lots of sauce options. But we need to buy extra sauce but it’s always worth it to enjoy several tastes. I like Wasabi and Teriyaki.
CONS:
As for the beers that they have, I don’t know what to choose. There are lots of beer options and it seems they get craft beers from locals. I wish the place let customers try some beers with a small cup since all they look great. It is just my wish, though.
Overall, I’m content with the place for my healthy diet based on those PROS!!!!
A big surprise here is how amazing the beef is. The Steak Tacos and Steak Bowl are actually my favorite things on the menu, as much as I love the fish tacos.
I love the Tuna Melt Sandwich. It’s one of my favorite Tuna Melts. It has so much flavor.
I recommend this place for some fresh, tasty food. It may not be the best you have ever had, but I have enjoyed it every time and keep coming back for more.
Fish and chip were great as well. Very crunchy.
Calamari was very good, good flavor, a bit much a while, still good though.
Wifie got the Salmon and Kale, it came with rice. She loved it. Little 11 mon. old was enjoying the the rice/kale/salmon too, along with calamari, just without the breading cuz it was too much flavor.
I would definitely try it again and recommend it to my friends.
