We did not end up eating here. The staff was rude. We waited for about 5 minutes before anyone even acknowledged us. There were 3 people standing in front of us getting to go orders with 2 people behind the counter and 1 on the floor. Another man came out of the kitchen with menus and then went back to the kitchen. Eventually, we were seated. We hardly had any time to look over the menu before we were bombarded by an older gentleman who, was polite at first, but the second and third time he came back- about 2/3 apart, he got a little more aggressive each time. We noticed online that it stated there was a buffet. We get inside, no buffet. The prices, we think, are a quite steep for the economy right now. We’d like to support the economy, however, at $20 per plate and $3 for an egg roll, its difficult.
We decided to go somewhere else. We do not live in the Grand Rapids area and had doctors appointments all day and we’re hungry and tired. We just wanted something quick and easy. Not a book to read that was part of the coat of the dinner.

The food at First Wok Chinese Restaurant was decent. Portions were generous and served hot, but the flavors felt a bit ordinary compared to other local spots. Service was friendly, though it took a while for the dishes to arrive. The dining area was clean but could use a little freshening up. Overall, it’s an okay option if you’re in the area and craving Chinese food, but not something I’d go out of my way for.

If I could give 100 stars, I most certainly would. Our server was so kind to us and provided excellent customer service. We ordered an egg roll, and my partner and I both ordered the sesame chicken. Our food came out lightning fast! Our server checked on us often, and when we couldn’t finish all our food (we didn’t realize how big the portions were; they were huge), she put it in to-go boxes for us. Easily our new favorite Chinese restaurant.

They are open until 9:30 during the week 10 PM on the weekends.
Plenty of free parking is available.
We had a very good meal with very good service.
The restaurant is extremely clean. The service was very fast and friendly.
You get free tea as well as rice with your meal .
I got the chicken broccoli my friend got the orange chicken.
Very large portions we are both very delighted with our meal.
There is handicap parking as well as the restaurant is handicap accessible.
I will definitely be back .

We have been coming here for over 20 years. The only Chinese restaurant we patronize and that ended last night. We did takeout. The cabbage in my egg roll smelled and tasted like a bleach cleaner, my tongue was slightly tingling and the Mongolian beef tasted rank. The meat did NOT taste like beef and if it was beef it was spoiled. All that money to just throw it away. Our long relationship ends now. Buyer beware

Update – we came back and it was just as good as the first time. Worth a visit if you like Chinese food.
This was my first time at this restaurant. I thoroughly enjoyed the Mongolian beef which I ordered and my wife loved her sweet and sour chicken. We went on a Sunday evening which came with complimentary egg rolls and soup, which was a nice plus. We definitely will be back.

I normally do not write reviews but this place is deserves recognition. The food was excellent with generous portion sizes. The service was speedy but even more notable was the hospitality- the staff treated our crazy group of kids like family, especially Tran. Thank you and we will definitely be back!

We had the sweet and sour chicken and the combination fried rice. The sweet and sour chicken was ok. It was pretty much the same as every other Sweet and sour chicken. But the combination fried rice was incredible. The beef was so juicy and tender! So good! The restaurant was fairly clean but the back of the dining area was full of boxes which kind of ruined the vibe.
