My first First Watch experience was back when I lived in Pittsburgh. The food and service was always exceptional and our experience here in Florida did not disappoint.
I have extensive dietary restrictions and was still able to identify plenty of options to choose from. Our table enjoyed the Bacado Omelet, the Sunrise Granola Bowl and the Barbacoa breakfast bowl.

My wife and I have frequented this location for years, its been our go to breakfast spot unfortunatly over the last several months it has been slipping. Our most recent visit Sunday was arguably the WORST experience ive had with a restaurant. After being seated we waited 15 minutes with no one stopping to greet us/ take our order, finally a table busser stopped and asked if we’d been greeted/ had our order taken (this was probably our only GOOD experience was the gentleman taking our order). Finally after about 30 minutes the food comes out (our drinks by this point have been empty for 20 or so minutes still no staff at our table for refills or to check on us). I ordered an eggs Benedict which is my usual. As you can see in the picture..I’d call it over cooked even by hard boiled egg standards. I had to flag down a different server to ask for it to be remade (No server)..the gentleman asked if I wanted fo just “eat around it” and he’d see about having it remade. After ANOTHER 20 or so minutes (still no server/ refills) kitchen staff bring out a bowl with two poached eggs in it for me to put on my now very cold and congealed breakfast. The staff was gracious enough to have the meal removed to their credit… but we left with an hour of time wasted and still without having eaten. Avoid this location like the plague until they decide fo make some staffing/ management changes. If you want First Watch badly enough make the extra 10 minute drive to the University location.

Came in on Sunday, very busy as expected. I was alone but asked if I could have a booth and was accommodated quickly. Kitchen had some issues with my order so my 5 star review is for how exemplary it was handled!
Mckenzie is a rock star ⭐️ She listened to my very closely to what happened with my order and as I was having a personal issue as well she went above and beyond!
She made my whole experience turn around and added her personal touches to it that quite simply made my whole day!!
She is an absolute gem to have on any team and understands customer service is personal!

The service was good, but our otherwise congenial server didn’t ask if we’d been there before (I had not) or offer to help us navigate the menu–until (pointing out my eventual choice) only after 10 minutes of not finding a sweet/savory option. He pointed out the two combos at the top I had managed to miss as he said, “…up here where everybody seems to miss it.”

Note: Your purposely highlighted menu items do not stand out from the rest of the menu. Of course, this issue could have been avoided if my server (very pleasant guy) had initiated a convo about the menu at first visit.

The food arrived timely and well plated, except for the obviously broken/almost hard-fried “over easy” eggs i had ordered. My server didn’t deliver them, so I couldn’t fault him. I do fault the expo as no broken yolk (which, again, was evident by the hard yellow line across the yolk) could EVER pass for OE. I only had to wait about 3 minutes from the time i finished my tasty, large (not enormous) pancake until the new perfectly-cooked OE eggs arrived, so no biggie. However, it is not encouraging to hear from your server he had to help the kitchen understand what OE means. I slid the new eggs into my home fries bowl where i had already crumbled my side-order (2 pieces) of well-cooked bacon and broke the runny yolks over the mix. Tasty.

But, when I am paying $27/head for breakfast, I expect it to be PERFECT–which this was not. Another example: the silverware, though of nice quality, was water-spotted. If you are going to ask for all the money, you need to go the extra mile and polish your silverware. If I had ordered this to go, I would be livid based on the overdone eggs alone.

My $27/head included a 20% gratuity, which is the minimum I will tip w/o speaking to a manager. But the ridiculous base cost of food, the expectation for another 27-32% added for tax/tip, and the invariably-mediocre quality/delivery of the product leads me to cook for myself at home.

The staff of lockwood ridge First Watch were amazing. The food was stellar and the ambience was great. Mckenzie, our server was a breath of fresh air. The combination of her inviting presence and providing us with great choices and service, we had an awesome experience.
Even as we were checking out, the warm conversation as well as opening the door for made us feel first class.

I have eaten at various First Watch restaurants since 2006. Each restaurant is different in it’s own way.

Luckily for me this location is about a mile away from my new house.

The restaurant was clean, quiet, and the service was really fast.

I ordered a roast beef sandwich and my favorite soup, tomato basil. (if you didn’t know, tomato basil is the soup they serve every day.)

They also have a great breakfast selection. They also have a fantastic seasonal menu (like every season).

We were sat immediately but it took so long to be waited on that we almost left the restaurant. Anthony our waiter seemed very unsure of himself as if he was new. My Parmesan hash was wonderful but my husband’s eggs & bacon were cold.
Gladly it was not our usual First Watch experience!

We’ve eaten at this First Watch location several times. It’s usually fairly busy with a wait, especially on weekends, so be prepared to wait during peak times. Other than that, we typically have a great experience. The interior is decorated creatively with a local Bradenton theme. The wait staff are excellent – usually friendly and attentive. Drinks are refilled regularly and orders taken in a timely manner. In terms of food, prices are a bit high compared to other breakfast places, but this is a bit expected for a large chain restaurant. Food quality and taste is usually excellent though. If we had to give a complaint, at times, such as during our last visit, it can be a bit too salty. We do typically like to try new menu items each time and they do offer seasonal items. During this last visit, we tried the Brooklyn Breakfast sandwich with potatoes and the blackberry lemon cream French toast. The sandwich was flavorful, but the French toast was too sweet for our liking. However, overall, we still enjoyed the dining experience and will be back again soon!

We always go to check the new menu. This time we both ordered the hash ribs, this was delicious.
Coffee as always really good.
The pecan caramel bun, we didn’t like it. Extremely sweet.
Environment nice.
