First Watch is an award-winning breakfast, brunch and lunch spot, serving a chef-driven menu of elevated classics and seasonal specialties, always made to order using the freshest ingredients. We greet the sunrise by slicing and juicing fresh fruits and vegetables, whipping French toast batter from scratch and brewing pots of our single-origin Project Sunrise coffee. Freshness is never comprised, which is why we welcome each season into our menu with ingredients and flavors inspired by the position of the sun. All year long, you can enjoy craveable favorites like Avocado Toast for breakfast, Smoked Salmon Eggs Benedict for brunch and Lemon Ricotta Pancakes for lunch. First Watch in Charlotte was an absolutely amazing experience. Trying new restaurants in Charlotte can be a hit or a miss, considering Charlotte(and the culture here including the restaurants here) is still trying to find its identity, but First Watch didn’t disappoint.
We visited for lunch on a Thursday, and it wasn’t busy. We were promptly seated, and our server was kind and polite.
For food, we got:
Veggie Burger: We got the burger with potatoes. The burger was an explosion of wonderful flavors, and the potatoes were well-done too. 10/10 burger
Honey Chipotle Chicken Hash: This seasonal item easily the star of our meal, with the chipotle glazed chicken mixed with potato hash, peppers and cheese creating quite a piquant flavor. I absolutely loved it.
There were other seasonal items on their menu too which looked scrumptious.
Their menu runs the gamut from your usual breakfast specials like omelettes and pancakes to sandwiches, frittatas and more. They have a section especially dedicated to the healthier options which was nice to see as well.
The seating area inside is fairly big, and there’s sufficient parking available outside.
Overall, it was a 10/10 experience and we can’t wait to be back.

A Grateful Birthday Brunch and an Amazing Server
This was our first time visiting today, and it turned out to be a birthday celebration for my beautiful wife. She picked the place, and we’re so glad she did. She ordered the Maple Croissant Breakfast Sandwich with a side of fruit and one slice of French toast, while I went with the Omelet: The Works, plus breakfast potatoes and a side of grits (though I wouldn’t recommend the grits, everything else more than made up for it).
What truly made the experience exceptional was our server, Sydney. If you go, ask to be seated in her section—she was AWESOME. Sydney was incredibly attentive, incredibly knowledgeable, and offered fantastic recommendations that enhanced our meal. Her customer service was outstanding, and her positive energy made the birthday breakfast feel even more special.
Sydney, keep up the AMAZING work!
