This place has always been great for years, but somewhere along the way I ended up going to another shop. Like many bagel shops on LI, that shop I was going to started to put paper thin amounts of cream cheese on bagels. It’s a bad trend I see, and their bagels were lacking too. So I went into my memory and came back to First Class to see how it has been doing.
First Class is now my default bagel shop when back on LI. Bagels are perfect, big and fluffy/chewy with just the right amount of crisp and bite to them. Blistering on the outside showing proper fermentation and boiling/baking. Everything about the bagels are great, the perfect representation of how amazing NY bagels are.
Then the cream cheese. It reminds me of being a kid again, they actually put a normal amount of cream cheese on the bagels. I couldn’t believe it! I’m not exaggerating when I say bagels shops all over the island have in recent years been cheating out on cream cheese while raising prices. If I’m spending $5 a bagel I want a normal NY amount of cream cheese! First Class delivers on this, 100%.
Nice staff, easy parking, quick and efficient service, delicious bagels, and the extra plus to it all – you would come here just for the baked goods they make alone! They have dozens and dozens of great bakery items that are worth coming here for even if you didn’t like bagels. Rainbow cookie cheesecake, giant Danish and cinnamon rolls, crumb cake, cookies, you name it. Love this place and I’m happy they are doing well.
If you’re not happy with your bagel shop, give them a try. If you are visiting LI, consider trying them out to see what NY bagels are all about.

I stopped into First Class Bagels (two minutes before they were closing) on my way back to Massachusetts. I just wanted a good Long Island bagel and First Class Bagels did the trick! So very yummy and hit the spot. The staff was incredibly kind even though I showed up as they were closing. The had compassion for me knowing I live very far from good bagels.

For a $7 fruit cup purchased only yesterday it’s unacceptable to have mold in it. Please do better this is gross.

I recommend this bagel shop for this local area. The pumpernickel bagel had good flavor and their scallion cream cheese was very good as well. They have a large assortment of pastries and drinks. Wayyy better than Wallys.

Excellent bagel shop with nice ambiance. It has a nice siting area and it is clean. They have variety of bagels, and the bagels are soft and freshly made. I ordered the bacon egg and cheese, and my bagel hardly had any bacon in it, I expected a little more than what was served. But overall it looks like a decent place.

Best best place for bagels in dear park. This place makes fresh bagels daily that has a line to the door almost always. There is a nice selection of bagels to choice from and they recently added some mini bagels which is perfect for gatherings. We always go here for our bagel sandwiches or just toasted bagel selection to take to family brunch. While there is almost always a line they move pretty efficiently so you don’t wait to long. They have a selection of different cream cheeses and salads (shrimp salad, potato salad, pasta salad, etc). They also have a nice bakery with amazing cookies & pastries. We love the open face and crumb cheese danish the best but their muffins are a close second. The other great thing about this place is the cheesecakes…so amazing! Our favorite is the crumb cake but they also have a strawberry and cherry one. The cheesecakes are so flavorful and rich with out being too rich and dense without being like a block of cream cheese. Love this place!

This is the best bagel place! Not only are their bagels delicious, but they are also great people and always extremely friendly. You honestly feel like family going to into first class. We use them for breakfast, lunch, cookies, cakes.. you name it. Everything is amazing! Don’t hesitate to stop by here if you’re in the area. You won’t be disappointed!

I’ve only come here for breakfast sandwiches, and those are always solid—they hit the spot every time. The staff is super nice, and there’s a guy in the mornings who always makes a great ham egg & cheese. I’d definitely recommend coming here for breakfast, not lunch. I ordered a turkey wrap with cheese, lettuce, and honey mustard, and it fell flat: barely any cheese, too much lettuce & it wasn’t even the good kind of lettuce, honey mustard that was wayyy too sweet, tortilla was thin & kinda stale and the lady added tomato when I didn’t ask for it. The macaroni salad was honestly the worst I’ve had like horrible-just mushy noodles with mayo and a heavy vinegar taste, nothing else. And the crumb cake was super dry, no crumb, and flavorless. I’ll give them the benefit of the doubt since it was the end of the week and maybe things had been sitting out, but I was still a disappointed.

I get inflation but $10 for a turkey sandwich is ridiculous. Oh and a untoasted.. white bread. With nothing but cheese and turkey and mayo .. $10? But in your website it’s listed as $6.50. Then when asking the cashier about it I was met with an attitude. . Here is a picture of the $10 sandwich
Also I did tell the cashier it was for a child.
I was charged for a meat sandwich $9.95
The place looks like it’s on the verge of closing down. I see why.

Skipped out a lil on the tuna salad on my bagel but other than that it was good and fresh. Staff is really kind. Huge facility. A ton of options for bagels, sandwiches, pastries and desserts.
