Stopped in on Labor Day on our drive back to the Hudson Valley. Service was fast, there was plenty of seating, bathrooms were clean, and the decor was nice. Loved the vegan lemon pistachio cake!

Best maple latte ive ever had i think I see this every time I try a maple latte in Vermont but this one is seriously exceptional. The coffee is the epitome of smooth. The croissants looks but pack butter flavour chew and crisp and wisp. Its really really good, try one.
The egg and cheese on a biscuit is very biscuit heavy, luckily the biscuit is sooo delicious and moist and easy to eat. Try one with hot sauce.
They offer a variety of tea that you don’t usually find in a coffee shop: genmaicha and hojicha

I was so pleasantly surprised by how much i enjoyed this place. First, I learned from the very friendly staff Noah that they use only chemical-free syrups. Everyone who works there cannot tolerate chemicals. So good to know! I had their mint mocha. Amazingly good. I also learned that their pastries are all made in house or locally a block away. I had their blueberry cake (made in house) and it was heavenly. Moist and gently sweet. Additionally, the indoor air smelled fresh and I did not detect any scented products/fragrances. What a special treat, a breath of fresh air! Can’t wait to go back.

I love this place!
First Branch is a quaint little coffee shop nestled in downtown South Royalton. They offer a nice variety of delicious coffee and baked goods.
The vibe is warm, and inviting. The staff is super friendly. Prices are reasonable.
If you happen to be in the area I highly recommend stopping by First Branch. You will be glad you did.

Stopped by for a quick to-go coffee. The coffee was very good and the wait staff was friendly. The menu was smaller compared to some other coffee places but they cover all the traditional café drinks and have some flavors. I didnt sit down but the atmosphere seemed like a classic coffee bar.

The fact that our little town in rural Vermont has a coffee shop of this caliber is extraordinary. After moving back to the area after living in New York City for over a decade, I can say that this place rivals any coffee shop in Brooklyn.
Everything about this place is perfect.

Great coffee and very reasonably priced! Perfect stop during a long bike ride on a weekend or a great way to hunker down and catch up on work during the midweek. Staff is absolutely phenomenal. The ambience is remarkable. The owners renovated an old, historic brick storefront that speaks turn-of-the-century Victorian-era Vermont but with an urban, modern chic vibe. Almost an industrial feel with very high ceiling, exposed utilities centered around an active copper coffee roaster.

I like to stop in and try every little coffee shop in Vermont, depending on where I’m working. I just happened to stumble upon First Branch recently and was blown away with how good the coffee was. This is definitely one of the best in Vermont.
