Came to enjoy a 101 pitstop lunch with my traveling companion and, boy, were we impressed!! Fun, casual atmosphere — go alone, with a partner, family, friends and even the kiddos! We enjoyed the (plentiful) dishes: fish n chips and fish tacos. As well as, one 0% abv beer and a glass of prosecco.

Would absolutely stop by again when we’re in the area (and certainly recommend it)!

I love barrel aged beers and this is the only brewery I know that does it with flavor, care and class. Of course they have other offerings but I only try beers from their barrel aged menu. The brewery is large, with bar seating, and inside and outside tables. The food is excellent too. There is nothing bad to say about this place, I just wish it was closer to my house but I’d probably be broke every month I’d that was the case. Keep up the good work.

[backstory]
my Harris Ranch I-5 return plans were thwarted by snow on the Grapevine. So it became a 101 NorCal ➡️ SoCal trip. given the timing of my travels, decided Buellton would be a good stopping point for fuel, bio, and food.

So then it became a question of what to eat. had been to the F-W Paso facility prior, but left shortly after sunrise, and the food venue wouldn’t have been open. Found Firestone-Walker had a taproom in Buellton, a very ‘wait, what?’ moment.

website made finding the seasonal menu for this location quite easy, since i could study the options remotely, had pre-planned my food order before setting off.

[the food]
without a bunch of AI adjective filter, it’s pretty much this. i got the tri tip sando with the steak fries, and it was properly tasty. the mix of arugula, bbq sauce & caramelized onions complement one another as if meant to be. huge kudos to Chef Alex Aviles for keeping the quality of ingredients up in the food to pair so nicely with the beverages served. nothing phoned in here, all aspects deliver.

[the service]
The staff was friendly, attentive and offered their assistance in pairing and choosing items. arriving right at open in many spots can be hit or miss, but the personnel here were firing on all cylinders from the moment i walked in. really appreciated the personal touches that were courteous casual professionalism; this isn’t a stuffy steakhouse, nor is it a greasy spoon or a soulless gigantocorpochain outlet. very low-key welcoming for a solo diner on a barstool.

they didn’t even trip on me bringing in my saffron jar and asking for a water, no ice, to infuse them into. that flexibility was sincerely appreciated, as this likely isn’t a typical thing. none of that ‘no outside food or drink allowed’ stuff from the staff or management.

[summary/TL;DR]
if you like good beer + food, and find you’re taking the 101 between California metropolises, Firestone-Walker Buellton should be where you stop for a legit yum meal, and don’t forget to grab something for later from one of their coolers.

S-tier food spot in Buellton, with really craft beer too. def worth a stop and visit.

Great first experience! Been hearing about it from others who have been, but it took 3 years for us to get there. Employees very friendly and helpful. Food was awesome. Locals night on Monday’s offers 25% off! Definitely will go back.

Great first experience at Firestone Walker for the entire Fam! I’ve been a fan of FW since I got into craft/hoppy beers but first time at the brewery.
We were staying in Solvang overnight so naturally had to visit Firestone in Buellton! Great atmosphere inside and out. It was a perfect sunny day outside with nice breezes so we decided to eat outdoors. It was relaxing, inviting and the service we got was top notch. Wife had a flight and I had pints of Oaktoberfirst along with a west coast IPA & hazy. Never could go wrong with anything at Firestone. Lol Food was also quite delicious. We were there on a Tuesday so had to go with their taco Tuesday deal! They are also kid friendly with a kids menu. Something for everybody! Our server was super friendly and nice! Kudos!
Thanks again FW and cheers!

We had a great time and a fantastic server. Sad that the brussel sprouts were not on the menu anymore.

The orange beer was fantastic as was the na.
Food was beyond bar food, lots to choose from and a good place for a variety of beer and food.

Waited 20 mins to sit @ 4:30pm, seemed a bit short staffed. As we left ppl were waiting about 40 mins.

We sat in the bar while we waited.

Great food and great beer. Service could’ve been better. Server stop by once which at that point I just asked for the bill. I would’ve had a second drink but waitress never offered. Manager did notice the lack of attention and he started helping her out. Manager had to bring out our drinks and food. Waitress was too busy on a Wednesday night? Burgers was a little too well done but after waiting so long, I ate it. Will definitely give it another try.

An absolute five star experience. Great industrial vibe in the dining room, but mercifully quiet. Service was consistently good the entire time. My husband tried a flight of their beer followed by a pint, while I had an excellent local rose. Our son had a Coke and was quite happy making a meal out of a bowl of garlic fries; I tried one and it was delicious. My husband had the BBQ smash burger with fries and said it was excellent, while I had the burrata salad and thought it was one of the best restaurant salads I have had in a long time.
