Heard about the prime rib from some friends. We had 12 people in our group. Took over a hour to be seated just to be told they ran out of prime rib as soon as we got seated. Very disappointing especially since we watched probably 12 people get seated before us. They had a whole room that was empty but nobody could sit in there, didn’t tell us a reason. Our party didn’t even get to sit together, we had to sit at 2 separate tables so we couldn’t socialize amongst all of us. I got the broasted chicken since prime rib was no longer an option. It was really good. The salad bar was fresh and everything was good. I am more disappointed in the service than the actual place or food. The waitress had an awful look on her face when I told her their was 12 of us, like it immediately upset her and her bad vibes got shoved onto us. We drove 45 minutes to get there, what I thought was going to be an enjoyable evening and experience was completely opposite of that. After ordering our food, it took over a hour to get it. A couple people ordered ribeyes and were brought 2 sirloins, which they sent back. So we had to wait quite awhile for the food. I will never return to this place and will find places that can accommodate larger parties. Also a place that doesn’t run out of prime rib within 2 hours of opening. NOT everyone in our party was going to order the prime rib, that’s the thing that is so disappointing as well. I feel like we got iced out. The friend that told us to go there had 10 people in their party and said to just go they have plenty of seating and will get you in right away. The cherry on top was the broken ice cream machine. Not a big deal but it apparently wasn’t our night.

Best steaks around awsome service. Huge salad bar! If you go ask for Joyce.

Ordered the prime rib sandwich ×4 and loaded baked potato. The sandwich was so fatty that I ended up feeding it to my dog. My loaded baked potato was still hard and didnt seem very loaded even though you pay for the extra toppings. I was very disappointed with my food worst $90 I’ve spent.

Small town steakhouse, but a good one to find. Large place with a signature vegetable beef soup on the salad bar that uses pieces of their prime rib for the beef in it. They are known for prime rib, but I found (most people I talk to agree) that it’s not as good as it was years ago. The meat is good, and cooked right, but it’s missing the flavorful outer rub that it used to have and what you are used to when getting prime rib somewhere. Salad bar has a good selection, and items are fresh. Most menu choices have been quite good. Was not a big fan of the Alfredo. You can see in my picture, it’s a lot of noodles while you search for the sauce. Over all, this is a place to try. Make a good place when out on a nice day on the motorcycle to stop for a meal.

Decent small town steakhouse with a nice salad and soup bar. Found it on our roadtrip heading home and decided it would be a great option for a Sunday night dinner. Very clean and nice establishment. Food was good, not over the top great, but no complaints. Service was extremely fast paced. I’d go back if I was in the area.

We decided to change our anniversary tradition and stop at Fireside instead. Wow! The food was amazing and we definitely over ordered. So delicious and the cheesecake for our anniversary was so very appreciated. Thank you for a great evening.

If you’re tired of standing out in the cold for hours waiting for a table at the chain restaurants just for a smackle of honey flavored butter, then unchain yourself and take the short drive southeast of Sioux City to Anthon and it’s Fireside Steakhouse & Lounge. Stepping in to a modern dining room, we had the option of eating in the lounge – an old school “at home” feeling of wood paneling, charming fireplace and stocked bar serving thirsty locals – like the kind of Iowa locals that look like they know their beef. Tender steaks, famous prime rib, steamy baked potatoes and creamy Alfredo are all on the menu and most meals include their stocked salad and soup bar. The soup? A true manly man soup – it had steak in it! We took the drive out after a suggestion to dine here, the suggestion being “you must go!”. Everything was filling, flavorful and fabulous! Service was attentive and we got a potato with real butter to go. Put on some tunes, take the drive and try this local classic (they’ve seriously been open for decades) for a carnivores dream in Anthon “my kind of town”.

What a fantastic steakhouse environment! Fantastic meal tonight with Prime rib – I ordered a 30oz prime rib and my wife got a 12oz. I enjoy mine rare, while she gets hers medium rare. Something I appreciate is that Fireside knows their steak! Fantastic cut, minimal fat waste, and cooked to perfection for both of our plates. Our waitress, Kelsey, was always checking in on us making sure we were doing good, keeping drinks full, and updated on meal’s progress. Our 1 yr old son was flirting with all the waitresses, who continually smiled and interacted with him. We love the small town atmosphere with a big city taste. Well worth the drive from Sioux City or anywhere if you want steak done right!

Always an amazing place to eat. The drive through the Loess hills will make the long drive worth heading to Anthon. Most meals come with the salad bar which I did not take a photo of but has many choices on it. The prime rib was easily one of the best that we have ever eaten! The alfredo sauce was so creamy and the garlic bread went well with it. Our favorite part of coming here is the ice cream at the end of our meal! Not many places serve ice cream with the meals anymore, so this brings back memories! Take the trip to Anthon and have a wonderful meal!

We went to celebrate our son’s birthday. What a great experience! The server was friendly and knowledgeable, the salad bar offered everything one could want and the prime rib was delicious. Definitely a must try if in the area.
