Once again, this place didnt fail me. I came in 7pm. The place was half full. I sat at the counter no longer than 2 minutes before the lovely lady said “Cabbage or Beans and rice?” AI responded “I just want your oxtails and throw your jerk sauce on it”. She smiled, laughed and produced. I told her that I only wanted the oxtail and jerk sauce because I was going to add it to my crab legs. I also expressed to her that the food here great to me. Why do I keep going back? 1, the food. 2, the host/lady up front whos attentive, 3, the cooks be cooking!

Hey people listen up, if you are looking for some authentic Jamaican cuisine this is the spot. The food nice nice and well seasoned. As a Jamaican myself I am so grateful and pleased that they did not hold back on the seasoning. My husband and I are travel agents so we visit many places and try many different Jamaican food, this is by far one of the best!!! I will be very candid with you all when I say not everyone can cook, some people just a try a thing…but the cook they have is hands down, one of the best. If I lived close by I would need to hire him for some of my functions….thats how good the food is!!! I could go on and on. I live 5hours away and was visiting for a few days and every day I kept coming back. I could really use an order right right now. As the Yardy dem say “them thing UP”! PS the cabbage is perfect…not overcooked at all!!!

I already fumbled on Ash Wednesday, I have this delicious scape Goat Curry to blame for. On a side quest to procure clove cigarettes. Instead I found myself dining with Sandy, and found out we arrived in Pittsburgh the same year.
The first time I had Caribbean food was at the JFK Airport and this was close if not better. Very generous portions of meat. A lot of takeout orders and foot traffic at this place. I’ll definitely make it a neighbourhood staple.
A regular, Britney recommended the Ackee and Saltfish being their national dish, and definitely the Oxtail Stew. Sandy said to call ahead if I wanted the Brown Stew, Steam, and Jerk Fish.
I thought about saving it for lunch tomorrow but I decided to commune with some new friends, it was so tasty I found myself gulping it all despite already having a fish dinner.
I went back next day for the Oxtail Stew omg yum and had oven pipping hot Jamaican Beef Patties.

I’m visiting from New York and it’s my 1st time being in Pittsburgh. I was craving Caribbean food and decided to visit this establishment based on the reviews. I have to admit I was slightly disappointed I really wanted oxtails and Ms Sally who was professional not necessarily friendly informed me that they didn’t have any oxtails. I then asked about the curry goat, she proceeded to tell me that there was no curry goat she then pulled out her cell phone and started looking down at it. I was baffled on why but anyway so I asked about the stew chicken, peas/rice and salad which they had, I really didn’t want it but I decided to try it. Overall the food was good but I never been to a Jamaican restaurant where they didn’t have oxtails or curry goat available. It would of been considerate of them to put up a sign stating that.

This food is so good. My man threw away my leftovers (only some food left because of the generous portion size) by accident and I teared up when I realized that my food was gone. I literally got it out of the trash and I’m gonna eat it anyway (it was in a box)

Decided on Jamaican after learning the Indian Buffet was closed on a Sunday. I’m from out of town, visiting friends and we kinda go through “what to try now?” Cuisine wheel.
Fireside came up in google search and we were off.
We got there pretty early than their typical lunch crowd, for Sundays, and missed out on the Oxtail and Pepper Steak… Greatest happy accident ever!
Friend got Curried Goat and I the Jerk Chicken. The Jerk Chicken IS LIFE CHANGING. Best I’ve had in my life thus far.
Wondering why I didn’t see more Asian customers because it meets the Savory and Spicy bar head on… Haven’t the food sweat/glow and I wasn’t even anticipating it because I hadn’t asked for hot sauce yet.
Recommend the 2 aforementioned dishes… AND the plantains & Coconut Cake! Will be back to try many dishes and also some of the meat & veggie patties!
The staff here are very warm, felt welcomed, and I’d love to visit again and bring more friends

I was highly impressed with the taste of this food. The service was good. I spent about 15 minutes waiting for my food to take out and it was worth every minute. They have a nice variety of meals to choose from. They also offer desert. Parking is a little rough as it’s street parking.

I haven’t had a bad experience there. I absolutely enjoy their food. I tried something new today as I usually get the jerk chicken or the curry. Those weren’t ready yet so I opted for the stewee chicken and it was delish. The sauce married well with the chicken that was so tender that if fell off the bone.
