Welcome to Firehouse Taverna, a beloved Greek restaurant located in Tarzana, California. Since our establishment in 1995, we have been dedicated to bringing the authentic flavors and warm hospitality of Greece to our community.
Our menu features a wide range of traditional Greek dishes, prepared with fresh, locally sourced ingredients and time-honored recipes. From our juicy lamb chops and sizzling souvlaki to our crispy spanakopita and flavorful tzatziki, every dish is a celebration of Greek cuisine.
Our restaurant’s warm and inviting atmosphere, combined with friendly and attentive service, creates the perfect setting for a romantic dinner, a family gathering, or a night out with friends.
Quaintly decorated, decades-old institution for gyros, souvlaki & other Greek staples.

Firehouse Greek is hands down some of the best Greek food around. We’ve dined in several times and also order from them regularly on delivery apps, and the quality is always consistent.
I usually get the chicken gyro wrap—it’s big, loaded, and super filling. The fries are always crispy and delicious, and their tzatziki is so fresh and flavorful. Today my husband tried the beef lulu sandwich for the first time, and he said it was really good.
The portions are generous, the food is well-seasoned, and everything tastes authentic. The service is great too—friendly staff and a welcoming atmosphere. Plus, there’s free parking in the back, which is always a bonus.
Definitely one of the best restaurants in the Valley. We’ll keep coming back.

A friend recommended this place when I was visiting. It is a Greek restaurant. I’ve been to many but I must say thay Firehouse Taverna is THE BEST that I have been to in a long time! The pita bread is fresh and delicious! Their Vegetarian Feast is great: falafel, rice, spanikopita, babaganoush (eggplant)…. I also had their Fish Pita which is Alaskan Cod with an incredibly tasty tartar sauce. The service was speedy. I did not have to wait a long time. Food came out quick. The portions are generous and the prices are perfect for a budgeting pocket. The server was always attentive and ready to refill our drinks.

This place is located in Reseda, California, on the corner of Reseda Boulevard and Victory Boulevard, right next to Starbucks. I’ve been coming here for many years since it’s down the street from where I work, and I’ve always really enjoyed the food except that it tends to give me a bit of heartburn. They’ve always been known for offering good value, quality, and quantity for as long as I can remember. I used to come here and get the chicken gyro sandwich, and it was always packed with so much meat that it would fall out as you were eating it. Yesterday, my wife and I decided to order chicken gyro sandwiches one for each of us and let me tell you, it was nothing to write home about. The sandwiches were pretty empty, with way more onions than chicken. I could literally taste the onions more than the chicken gyro. The chicken wasn’t seasoned properly, and it felt like whoever prepared the sandwiches had been told to cut back on the meat. Meanwhile, the price has gone up over the years. I remember when it was around nine dollars, and they’d really load up the sandwich with chicken. That’s definitely not the case anymore. I don’t know if this issue is just with the chicken gyro or if it applies to their other menu items too. I also don’t ever recall seeing this place busy every time I stop by, there’s rarely more than one person eating inside. I guess most people just order takeout. The ambience is what you’d expect from a Mediterranean restaurant that serves Middle Eastern food. Either way, I’m not really impressed with this place anymore and probably won’t be coming back. The economy is clearly taking a toll on portion sizes at most restaurants you can see it everywhere they charge more and give you less. This place is a perfect example of that. Don’t you think if they charge you more, you should get more? It just doesn’t make sense to me.

These are the best gyros I had so far in San Fernando Valley. They were full of flavor with plenty of meat. The fries were perfectly seasoned and very crispy. Trust me, I am from Chicago and tasted many gyros in my life time. Staff were very friendly. I totally recommend this place. I will definitely come back.

Mouthwatering. You get a good idea of how delicious the food is about to be once the aroma from the kitchen hits you. The staff was very polite and our food was prepared fairly quickly. The salads are amazing and the chicken gyro plate stole my heart. The portion sizes are perfect to share or take some home to enjoy later. It’s a thumbs up from me !

Someone told me this was the best Greek food in the area, and I completely agree. Everything you get is going to be so delicious and fresh. Our absolute favorite thing on the menu is the House Specialty Lamb Kleftiko, wow!! It is so very tender and tasty, the sauce it’s in is amazing. My mom doesn’t really like lamb and she LOVES the Lamb Kleftiko, and the rice it comes with is so fluffy and flavorful. We had the Chicken and Gryo plate, with hummus and rice, their hummus is so good almost light in a way, the chicken kabob is juicy, and the gyro is some of the best I’ve had. Their pita bread is so soft and fresh, but crispy on the outside–it tastes like they make it fresh in-house and it comes out hot! The Falafel is pretty huge and so good, and so is the Dolmadakia (stuffed grape leaf) and it’s giant!! So one is definitely enough, and it’s really good. We also had the Greek Fries, and if you put some Greek Dressing on them, it’s going to blow your mind. It’s definitely worth getting, especially if you’ve never had Greek Fries before. Their Greek salads are also very good and fresh, and they come with like every meal. Definitely get an order of the Tzatziki Dip, and it also comes with Pita, and the Tzatziki is so thick and creamy, very very delicious, do not skip this one. My sister has also ordered the chicken pita sandwhich and it was so good. Everything here is wonderful, but make sure you try the Lamb Kleftiko and Tzatziki!! We love coming here 🙂

After years and years driven by this place, I decided to give it a try! Googled it, and I was happy they have lamb gyros!! My favorite kind!
It has a small parking area behind the place through the alley. About 6 to 7 cars could park there. On busy hours, I think it would be hard to find a parking spot.
It was Friday around 2:30 p.m. there were 3 tables of diners when I got there. So, it’s a good sign!
Decided to order a take out order of the Gyro plate $22 and change. It came with rice pilaf & pita bread and Greek salad on the side. The plate was in a large portion with a generous amount of gyro meat!! Ordered a spanakopita $5.00. They gave me olive oil & herbs, hummus, and tatziki sauce as well.
Once I got in my car, I couldn’t resist eating the spanakopita right away although the crust was not as puffed up as I expected it to be, the filling tasted amazing!! The spinach was seasoned perfectly!
Got home and tried some of the rice, pita bread, and the gyro meat. I’m impressed with everything! The pita bread was warm and soft, rice was cooked to perfection and had nice fragrant aroma.. then the meat was seasoned very well! Not too dry and sliced thinly just the way I love it!
Besides the salad.. I’m not really a salad person. But they made and packed it well with a generous amount of feta cheese on it.
I gave the staff Graciella & the chef; Joel thumbs up !!
Good job!!
Recommended to gyro fans or Mediterranean cuisine lovers!

Got the Mixed Souvlaki Plate (Beef, chicken & lamb) which comes with fries & greek salad, also got the and Babaganoush & a yogurt drink. The food was delicious and the portions are huge. I can eat a lot and I wasn’t able to finish it. Everything was fresh, well seasoned and cooked. The meats were yummy and the salad was great, nice and tangy. Babaganoush was yummy and I love to wash it all down with a yogurt drink. It’s such a cute place, nice little flowers outside along the windows. Waitress was nice. A bunch of tables inside and some outside. You can park on the street or a few spots in the back.
