This is directed at the owner, whoever that is. First of all the food is great. I’ve been in this location many times and I usually have to wait. It’s getting worse. The employees are polite but the wait is absolutely ridiculous. I ordered one sandwich and even rounded up my order to support the firemen. I waited and waited. Two guys who were dining in got their food about 15 minutes apart. So much for eating together. Another person tried to cancel their order. I looked at the time on my receipt and it took 30 minutes, a freakin half hour! for me to get my to go order. There were FIVE people working in the store. They weren’t short handed. They seem to cater to the delivery services that show up while you’re waiting and they get their food while you’re waiting for Christmas. I’ve never written a bad review and I’m writing this one because I love the food but I’m not coming back anytime soon.

I went through the firehouse website and placed a delivery order for myself and my employees. They transferred it to UberEats. It took an hour for the food to be delivered, and when it was, I was missing 1 sandwich, 5 chips, and 5 drinks. So basically almost my entire order. I tried calling the store and got no answer. I tried calling the delivery driver and got no answer. I drove to the store and explained what had happened. They seemed to know I was missing an Italian sandwich and said they would make it. They were out of bottled sprite and coke and offered no solution, so I just asked if I could have cups and get drinks through the machine. I then proceeded to wait at least 20 minutes for my one sub to be made. No, they offer to remake the other sandwiches, and I didn’t feel like spending an hour waiting for new sandwiches. I asked if they had marked the gluten free Italian sandwich and they hadn’t so he had to open all the sandwiches to find and mark the gluten free one. I asked to make sure the one they were making didn’t have the mustard as I had requested when I ordered it. They looked surprised but told me that there was no mustard on it. I watched my sandwich get dropped on the ground in it’s box and then packed in my bag. Since it was my personal sub and only the box hit the ground, I didn’t say anything. When I received the 5th sub, drinks, and chips I drove back to work. Surprise, my order was wrong. I didn’t get the captains club I ordered or the engineer with the added bacon and pickles. I received all Italian sandwiches, one of which had the added bacon and pickles. I called the store back and after 10 minutes of trying to get an answer I had people laughing in the background about my mixed up order. I know because I was not put on hold while they asked the others about the order. They told me they could remake the sandwich and I said no because I was at work. That was the whole point of ordering delivery. They got an attitude and asked for my contact number so the manager can call me when he gets in later today. Guess we’ll see if they make it right. For $105 order I expected my food to be right, and the customer service to be better.

Only gave this a 1 star review because there was no zero. Horrible experience – never coming back! Came here because we wanted fast food so I could make a doctor’s appointment. Ordering was easy enough – a medium steak & cheese combo, a small meatball sandwich combo, and garlic bread on the side. However, they took an inordinately long time to get our food to us. By the time we got our food, everything was cool to the touch. My son’s meatball sandwich was the only item that was warm. I suspect they forgot to make his sandwich and when they realized it, they made it while they left the rest of our order sitting there getting cold. Why didn’t you just give us the hot food and tell us you’re still working on the meatball sandwich?

Since they took so long to get our meals made, I was really running short on time, so I said “no” when they offered to warm up the cold items. I just asked for my money back since we had not yet touched any of the food anyway. Manager asked me which items were cold and he refunded only my meal that I said was cold. Seriously? I told you we had to leave for an appointment! I was so frustrated that it wasn’t worth my time nor my blood pressure to argue my case, so we just asked our son to hurry up and eat his meal then we left. We paid about $32 for our meal, and the manager refunded us $12.76 of that, so we essentially paid almost $20 for my son’s small meatball sandwich, chips and drink. And my husband and I ended up not having time to eat lunch so I could make my appointment.

This place is definitely NOT fast and this matter was definitely handled very poorly. We’ve been here many times before — some visits were good, others tolerable, but today was an awful visit. Never again.

I just came back to this web page to see if I had a rebuttal to my 1☆ review. My Gosh! To the Owner who wtites an apology reply over 10 times daily. Nothing is fixed. Nothing has changed. Are you even comprehending these reviews or just reading them. Bad, bad business. I brought my 12 year old Grandson on a Sunday near the end of July. Besides the dirty dining area, and obtuse employees that do not look you in the eye my main complaint and confusion was when I ordered my Grandsons sandwich.
White bread, Turkey, Lettuce, American Cheese. THATS IT. The stoned cashier didnt understand so I repeated,” THIS IS FOR A CHILD. PLAIN WHITE BREAD, TURKEY. AMER CHEESE AND LETTUCE. THATS IT. 3 THINGS. I ordered an Italian. 30 min later no food. Someone who came in behind me got hers. I inquired, they dont even look at me but say almost done. I get order, My sandwich does NOT look like any Italian Ive had there before BUT my Grandson says, PAPA, LOOK…..He has the top white bun off and there is lettuce tomatos, onions. And more mayonaise than in a tuna sandwich. I paid almost 40 bucks for this garbage. I have to tell the stoned white guy that took my order, look sir, I want a PLAIN turkey sandwich with just cheese and lettuce , as I show him the glob of gross that they gave us. No sorry, No nothing he just turns and goes to the Black gentleman who looked at me and appatently tells him what I need. I sit back down and can only eat half of my disgusting basket. My Grandson has no food at abot the 45, 50 minute mark. Jyst then the Black gentleman walks up to our table and asks me again what I wanted on my Grandsons sandwich!!!! Your joking right, I told that guy 4 times and you were standing by him the last time….. White bread, lettuce, turkey, cheese. Its so simple.

I will not return to the West Ash Firehouse that is in my neighborhood.
This photo was final product we got to go on the way out the door. What is it? Minced Meat with blended lettuce and mayo?? My G.Son ate nothing.

I’ve been coming to this Firehouse for well over a decade and the service is usually fair. Sometimes great, usually average, never bad. Tonight was totally different. I walked in the front door and the bell went off, but the “Welcome to Firehouse” was noticeably absent. Whatever, there were only two ladies working and they seemed busy, and one of them seemed new. I stood behind a lady in the line where you would normally order your food. I stood there for around 10 minutes before the lady in front of me got her order she placed from an online order. I then stepped forward and waited for someone to come take my order. After another 5 minutes or so, the seemingly new lady asked if I was picking up an order. And to note, this was the first time I was even acknowledged as a customer. Nobody said hi when I came in, nobody said hey we’ll be with you soon, nobody even looked at me. I told her no I wasn’t picking up an order but I wanted to place one. She said they can’t do that because their systems are down. Well people were getting food so they were placing orders somehow, so I asked how to place an order. She said to download the app and place the order there. I said I really wish someone would’ve said something prior to me waiting all that time, and the comment from the other lady caught me off guard. She said “well there are signs all over the place”. Wrong. There was no sign at the front counter where people order food, which seems like the most logical place to put a sign of that nature. There was zero empathy in her tone and it was clearly said in a way to make me feel like an idiot. I said “really great customer service” as I walked out the door and she replied with a sarcastic “have a nice day”. As I walked back to my car I noticed a sign on the front door, but I didn’t see it as I was walking into the building. Surely it was there, but I don’t make a habit of reading all of the 900 stickers and signs companies put on their windows.

The crumby part of this was that I had my wife and baby in the car along with my phone as it’s the key to my car. My wife was having an incredibly bad day and when we were headed home we were craving something that always hit the spot. Well that didn’t happen. And boo-hoo us, who cares, that’s life, yada yada. I get it. But I’ve worked in the food industry for a long time and I could never imagine treating a customer this way. I’ve always had pride in my ability to deliver world class customer service, and although I don’t except that from a place like Firehouse, tonight’s experience was so terrible that I can say I will gladly drive to W Montague to their location before ever coming to this location again. The food is always great, I’ll give them that, but their customer service is on the way to rock bottom. One star seems awfully generous but I guess that’s what they get since I can’t give zero.

Every table was dirty. Even when the employees were caught up with customers no one took the initiative to wipe down the tables (we were here over 30 minutes). My sandwich was overly warm so that the scant tomato and lettuce were ick. It was also hurriedly thrown together and then upside down in the container. The bread was not crusty as it should have been. The icing on the cake was when my companion went up to order drinks and the price they charged was higher than on the huge menu on the wall. When questioned the workers just laughed. For what you get it’s pretty pricey.

Visited this location, and the experience was underwhelming. I received no greeting when I walked in. I headed to the area to get in line, and after the associate took the customers order in front of me, she walked away. I just stood there for about 10 mins and watched her do everything except take my order. At this time, I was the only person in line. She goes to help the other 4 ppl on their staff make sandwiches, as if I wasn’t standing there. She finally comes back to the register and says nothing, so I’m assuming she’s going to take my order. She is not smiling and not friendly. She looks annoyed and bothered. After taking my order, I went to get some sweet tea, which tasted funny. There were no lids there for my size cup, so I had to go back and ask this unfriendly associate for one. She says nothing and goes to replenish the item. Then she points and says it’s over there. As I waited for my order, I poured my tea out and got lemonade instead. I sat and waited on my food, which was longer than expected. I saw a group of people come in, and there was a guy at the register this time. He greeted them and said hello once they got to the register (maybe the manager). I’m not sure, but he was around when the unfriendly associate took my order. The floor wasn’t swept, with trash just sitting there.
Once they call my name, I grab it at the counter. No one says anything again.
After waiting as long as I did, to make matters worse, the food wasn’t great. I had to take the bread off part of the sandwich because it tastes hard and stale. The quality was bad. In the future, I probably won’t visit this location, probably will find one outside of this area.

I walked in at 723 Sunday evening to pick up an uber eats order from firehouse and when I told the customer name all I hear from the lady behind the counter is “Im not doing this again, the other dude stole it, Huff puff, huge attitude.” I understand these situations are frustrating BUT if you decide to work a CUSTOMER FACING ROLE, you should have enough common sense and professionalism to act accordingly. This employee is a scourge to a decent business overall.

What impressed me about this sub shop is the service.

Today. You don’t get service, anywhere. But, I was surprised at the commitment to all us people looking for a sandwich.

The manager seemed to be training someone. And hey, it was cool.

The help was friendly, seem checked in. And that, my friends was very cool.

Firehouse is a national chain. It has a theme. But, it is actually very good. Using steamed meats. It works.

This is a place 1st responders can be proud of.

Firehouse. Pretty darn good.
