Delicious Food and Outstanding Service!
Firehouse Subs in Blacksburg, VA, near Virginia Tech, is an absolute gem! Every time I visit, I’m greeted with friendly smiles and exceptional customer service. The staff are attentive, quick, and clearly take pride in what they do.
The subs are always fresh, generously packed, and full of flavor. My personal favorite is the Hook & Ladder – the combination of smoked turkey breast, Virginia honey ham, and melted cheese is perfection. They also offer a great selection of toppings and sides, so there’s something for everyone.
The atmosphere is welcoming and clean, and the firehouse theme adds a unique charm to the dining experience. Plus, knowing they support first responders makes dining here even better.
Whether you’re grabbing a quick lunch between classes at Virginia Tech or enjoying a meal with friends, Firehouse Subs is a must-visit spot in Blacksburg! Highly recommended!

Pretty good place, wait time was longer than expected
*Update 7/6/24 I placed an online order for a small bbq Cuban sandwich and was extremely disappointed with the size for the price, the sandwich is so tiny. I should have got the regular size. Just when you enjoy the taste of it, it was gone. Price is a little high for what you get honestly not really impressed

First time here. Ordered a Cajun chicken sub online, simple process with lots of customization available, walked in, picked my order up right on time. Price is very fair for what you get. Mushrooms and tomatoes were on point! Very delicious and made for a quick lunch. Thank you!

This place is my second home. The Cajun chicken has never ever done me dirty. I will say usually the workers are stressed out and the wait is diabolical, but that could never make me hate Firehouse… even tho I should. I love you Firehouse ❤️

Always a good quick lunch option. The atmosphere is friendly and open, service is quick and accurate, and the food is good. Hero sub or steak and cheese (picture below) are my go-to subs. Keep doing what you’re doing firehouse.

Unfortunately this will not be our usual good review for Firehouse Subs. During my phone order I specifically asked that they bag the orders separately because they were going to 2 different places and provide extra pickles for each bag. When my husband picked up the order it was in one bag and he just left that alone. However there were only 2 pickles for 4 people so he went back and complained. The guy said he couldn’t remember which sandwiches were supposed to be separate so he decided to put everything together and apologized that there were only 2 pickles and gave my husband a few more. Hubby delivered to sandwiches/pickles to my parents and then brought ours home. As you can see by the attached pictures our ham sandwich only had ham in the middle of the sandwich with nothing on the end except for a tiny bit of mayo (we asked for extra mayo) and a tomato. So not only did Firehouse dropped the ball in service they didn’t do very well with the food either.

This was the best sub I have ever had!! I had never tried a firehouse sub before. The girls there explained how to order and their process and was very nice. The sub was perfect and I also got some mac n cheese that was really good.

Just watch an employee change the furnace filters and wipe down the vent covers in the ceiling, as another employee under him was fixing someone’s food

Visited as a parent with a couple of kids from VT. Lady in front of us ordered 10 sandwiches and the crew handled it well. Morning rush didn’t seem to phase the staff and our sandwiches were all made really well. 10/10. Military discount too.

Charged me for an extra combo. The store was closing so they didn’t fix it. Pretty sure it was done purposefully. They were also out of pickles so paid $60 for 4 small combos and got no pickles! Not happy at all.
