Firehouse Dubs in Sanford is definitely worth a visit if you’re craving hearty, flavorful subs. I recently stopped by and tried the steak and cheese, while my girlfriend went for the Hooking Ladder. Both sandwiches were absolutely delicious, each packed with bold flavors that made every bite satisfying.

My steak and cheese was a perfect balance of tender, juicy steak, melted cheese, and fresh toppings. The bread was soft yet sturdy, holding everything together without getting soggy. The steak was cooked just right, and the seasoning gave it a great depth of flavor without overpowering the other ingredients. It’s clear that they use high-quality ingredients, and everything is made fresh.

My girlfriend’s Hooking Ladder was equally impressive. It featured a great combination of flavors with perfectly cooked meat, fresh veggies, and a tangy sauce that added just the right kick. The bread, like my sandwich, was fresh and held up well against the generous portion of fillings.

What stood out the most was the overall experience. The staff was friendly and welcoming, and the atmosphere had a cozy, laid-back vibe that made it a great spot to enjoy a meal. Whether you’re eating in or taking your subs to go, Firehouse Dubs delivers great food with plenty of flavor.

If you’re in the Sanford area and looking for a sub place that doesn’t disappoint, Firehouse Dubs is definitely worth checking out. The generous portions and quality ingredients will leave you satisfied every time.

Just stopped in today ordered one of my favorites. The New York steamer get home and 1/2 of the sandwich had very little meat with the prices for a sub these days this is ridiculous. Hopefully someone from Management had firehouse subs reads this and fixes this problem

Staff is friendly, but service was really flipping slow. First off, the restaurant charges for gluten free buns and makes my medium sized gluten free bun combo the price of a large combo essentially, $19 including 20% tip. It’s aggravating… My allergy isn’t severe but I can’t ingest large quantities of wheat bread. Gluten free bread is not a treat… While I’m super glad Firehouse has it, please normalize my life and stop charging for it. Second, I waited 30 minutes for one sandwich. Firehouse needs to think about a ghost kitchen for online orders. JS. It’s not fun watching people getting upset as the time creeps by. Third, I’m not coming back. I’m getting fed up with fast food prices and charging for gluten free bread. Ugh!

I went there with my wife for lunch. While waiting to order, one of the employees coughed into her gloved hand, then returned to making food without changing gloves. I’m sure it did not register to her what she had just done, but it was enough for us to go next door to Panera instead.

I really like the food, but that was gross.

I came here on a Saturday afternoon around 4pm. The place wasn’t busy at all, which was great for me. The food came out fast and absolutely delicious. I swear, Firehouse Subs makes the best meatball subs (excluding any local mom & pop shops).

I won’t eat here anymore because when they make the sub instead of using a paper liner to put the bread onto while preparing it they put the bread on the metal counter, I assume they clean these every so often with a rag and some cleaner which is disgusting that they’re then sliding the bread around on there while they put your toppings on it. I used to eat here a lot but also do uber and pick up from this location frequently and I see them do this every time so it’s not a one time thing. I’m sure this is not the way it’s supposed to be done…?
