When I got there, my food was not on the pickup shelf, which initially wasn’t a big deal. An older, bald gentleman was standing at the counter talking with the two employees working-one with green/black hair and facial piercings, and the other with short hair and a very noticeable hickey on her neck. He mentioned he was a former employee, and the three of them were laughing and carrying on.
The employee with short hair and the large hickey on her neck asked for the name on my order. I told her, and she simply nodded without responding, then continued talking with the man as if I wasn’t standing there.
That same employee then followed the man outside while still joking around. Instead of assisting me while her coworker stepped away, the employee with green and black hair stood at the edge of the counter and watched them carry on outside rather than helping me.
I wasn’t watching closely, but the man began honking his horn, and the employee with the hickey came back inside laughing so hard she was rolling on the floor. Meanwhile, I was still waiting for my order, now close to 7:50 p.m.
She eventually asked me again for the name on my order and even said the wrong name before finally saying, “Oh shit, your order’s on the counter.” Sure enough, my order had been completed and sitting there the entire time I had been waiting.
I have absolutely no issue with employees having fun at work-I actually enjoy seeing staff happy and interacting with customers. However, there’s a difference between having fun and neglecting job responsibilities. The lack of attention and the disrespectful interaction were unacceptable, especially when I’m spending my hard-earned money at your business.
I’m not someone who typically leaves reviews, and I can overlook a lot, but this experience left me feeling genuinely disrespected. Because of this, I do not plan on returning to this location.
The place was much cleaner and empty in the evenings, which makes it an ideal place for a quiet meal where you can hear yourself talk. I would take a sandwich here over Subway any day. Drink area is usually clean and stocked well.
Only ask is to improve the philly cheese steak meat. Everything else is good.
People skills are becoming rare.
“Get any two select medium subs for just $14 or upgrade to two larges for $20. Pick from our Hook & Ladder®, Firehouse Meatball®, Turkey & Provolone or Italian. Pair up and save big.”
On top of that how long does it take to make a sandwich?
Manager more concerned about employees clocking out than serving the customer.
