This location has been on a slow decline. My 5 star review one year ago is now a solid 1.
As previous reviews explain, at 8pm – the location is practically closed. Entering around this time will result in some odd looks from staff. Tea is dumped, so don’t even think about it.
Not an inviting experience. Maybe consider closing at 8pm? That way everyone is happy and expectations are clear.

Came in to this store 20 min after 8 pm. Today 10/6/25 to find all the chairs stacked on tables. This is not the first time. I have eaten here for years. Sometimes my schedule changes and I don’t get to eat dinner till 8 pm
Or later. It would be nice to be able to sit down to eat my dinner. The employees do this on purpose to deter customers. And if you do order something they have an attitude.
Today was the last straw. FIX YOUR EMPLOYEES OR I WILL TAKE MY MONEY ELSEWHERE. I will make sure I tell everyone I know. Evidently loyal customers are not important to these owners.
Also the so called manager never does anything. He is always on his phone on a personal call. Last week the coke was out. Today it was pickles. (I heard a customer complaining as we both walked out )
How does firehouse not have pickles.

This location is wildly inconsistent. One day my sub may be made correctly and fresh, the next time I place an order my sub is cold and missing ingredients. Today I received a completely soggy untoasted sub, it was disgusting. Same goes for the staff, some days I am warmly greeted and other days the staff won’t even look up when a customer walks in. Today was one of the days that I walked in and walked out without a word spoken to me. I won’t return to this location due to the inconsistency.

I’m a big fan of Firehouse and have been to several in the Jax area. This is a consistent location and hands down my favorite to visit. Staff, freshness, cleanliness, etc. In fact, I live closer to another location but I loathe going there vs this location. Keep it up! 🙂

Awful service…. Stood at the counter for minutes without being acknowledged, despite being the only customers. 25 minutes to make two subs with not a soul in the restaurant, and 27 bucks out the door with no combo. Place has been going down hill for years now, and this location is the epicenter.
