I had to have a late lunch and always looked forward to a good Firehouse sub. I went to the 450 Hackensack Ave location, a 15 min drive from my location but knew it would be worth it. I was hungry! I arrived and walked in. No customers were there, just me and the employee. The employee was working hard at making a single meatball sub and I started to become annoyed at the 3 minute mark. I had not been acknowledged. When the employee turned around, I was told I would have to still wait another 5 mins before I would be helped. I looked around….just me. (I do understand app and phone in orders are important as well.) But I’m there, right now. Money in my hand, ready to order. Nope, I would have to wait. Sorry Firehouse subs…..you have lost my business, today and in the future. Customer Service was not the employee’s strong point today. And I will not be returning. I would suggest the Pizza place next door.

Like the firehouse decor, and the staff were patient and greeted, lots of helping even though I was only ordering a snack and got a pickle with my order that was cold and tasty (the garlic bread was just ok).

Firehouse Subs was an okay, first experience. I wasn’t too thrilled about their subs. Bread was too crispy. The turkey was okay. Maybe we came at night? I prefer fresh, softer bread. I am not sure if it is common here. My pieces were falling out and weren’t as packed well together.
Located in a shopping center, there is plenty of parking. All forms of payment are accepted, and the staff was helpful.
This was my first time experience. Maybe next time will be different.

Upon entering I was IMMEDIATELY filled with a deep sense of REGRET. Here I was, finally, standing proudly in the festive foyer of Firehouse Subs, only to realize I had left my bright red fireman hat at home. This day was NOT off to a good start.
I approached the counter and was greeted by a nice young man who did NOT look like a fireman, but I wasn’t going to rush to judgement since they basically let any Joe Schmo tackle blazes with all the riots these days.
Anyway, I ordered the meatball sub on garlic bread and decided to add pepperoni since I was feeling a little crazy. MAMMA MIA! HIGHLY recommended adding the pepperoni! To anything, really.
The garlic bread was toasted to perfection. The meatballs were small enough to where I could bite without dislocating my sensitive jaw. Overall it was one of my top 5 meatball experiences. Highly recommend. This place is a five-alarm fire! In a good way.

Kelvin was so nice! He answered all my questions with ease and a smile. Don’t get me started on the food. The Italians was the best sandwhich I’ve ever had.

I placed a large order of sandwiches for a client event. The team was very accommodating and were able to make some last minute adjustments withouty issue. Clayton was especially helpful, highly recommend!

I’ve never had a positive experience at this location. I’ve given them three opportunities and unfortunately, the sandwiches are always lacking. Also they are always forgetting something. I’ve come to believe the reason why they have high counters is so you can’t see the mistakes they’re making.
Most recently, I asked for onions and reassured I wanted the pickle slice but guess what, they somehow forgot it even though they literally just asked. Also look at how sparse the sandwich is, this is what you get for $10.
My prior visit to this, I made an online order and came 20 minutes later. I literally had to wait another hour for the sandwich because their policy was to serve in person offers first. There were 3 other people waiting like me who started arguing with them because the wait was ridiculous. They somehow dragged out each in person customer to 10 minutes so they could I assume punish us for the online orders. I would hope they fixed this policy since.
The only reason why I came here is because this location is conveniently located in a shopping center. Next time, I’ll drive the extra distance to go to Jersey Mike’s or Subways. This establishment certainly gives firehouse subs a bad name.

Why do y’all keep forgetting our pickles?!??!?!?
We order frequently enough & the last 3 out of 4 orders contained no pickles. It’s literally your thing. Sandwiches are good, sometimes a bit sloppy, but that’s okay. If my next order is missing the pickle, I’m dropping another star. Ordered via the app, & the pickle was checked, as usual. Do better Hackensack.

Conveniently located, quick turnaround, fresh food, placing order at counter could be challenging at the times to the accent of the lady behind the counter.
