I stopped into the Firehouse Subs in Aurora, CO and honestly walked out pretty impressed. I ordered the Hook & Ladder, and man… it hit the spot. Super warm, loaded up just right, and the flavors all came together like they actually cared about making the sandwich instead of just slapping it together. The turkey and ham were fresh, the cheese was melted perfectly, and the whole thing had that classic “Firehouse” taste that makes you remember why you went there in the first place.
The place itself was clean and had that chill, welcoming vibe—nothing fancy, just comfortable. The crew working behind the counter were friendly, upbeat, and actually seemed like they enjoyed being there, which always makes the whole experience better. They moved fast too, even with people coming in and out, so I never felt like I was waiting forever.

I ordered online and it was done and ready by the time I showed up. The service was polite and efficient. The locale was clean. I ordered a large (footlong) and it was enough for two meals. In terms of quality, it’s a notch above Subway, so I quite enjoyed. Would recommend.

I grew up on Firehouse. I loved being greeted and the energy of these stores. This was not that experience. The door was broken, the floor and bathroom were dirty, our order was wrong, we were only acknowledged when they had a question about the order and there wasn’t any direction giving for where to get drink cups or cookies. The craziest part to me is that as a franchise, they’re expecting to charge more for the food, but make you do all the work, by placing your own order, on a dirty screen and then to take it a step further by promoting the guests to leave a tip for good servers hidden behind a counter who don’t even acknowledge you walked in. This approach will kill this franchise. Shame. Hella disappointing.
