Huge shoutout to Chris at Firehouse Subs in Downtown Lansing! He was absolutely amazing while making my pepperoni meatball sub — it was perfect! Even more impressive was how patient and kind he was with my kids’ orders, especially considering their dietary restrictions. Chris went above and beyond to make sure everything was right, and that level of care and attention means a lot. Great food and even better service — thank you, Chris!

Absolutely outstanding experience at Firehouse Subs in Downtown Landing. From the moment I walked in, everything was dialed in fast service, spotless store, and food that was fresh, hot, and loaded exactly the way it should be.
I ordered the meatball sub, and hands down, it was the best meatball sub I’ve ever had perfectly seasoned, great texture, and built exactly right.
What really sets this location apart, though, is Chris, the manager. He’s a true professional at his craft. You can tell he takes pride in every detail from how the team operates to how customers are treated. He runs a tight ship while still making the place feel welcoming and relaxed.
One thing I really appreciated is that they’re open until 9 PM, which is awesome to see especially when so many places around here are closing earlier. It makes a huge difference for anyone grabbing a late dinner.
The subs were phenomenal, the service was top-tier, and the overall experience felt a step above what you expect from a quick-service restaurant. This is how it’s supposed to be done. Huge credit to Chris and his team I’ll absolutely be back.

Got the Hook and Ladder to go, and it was delicious! The bread to inner ingredient ratio is perfect, and they put just enough mayo and deli mustard on it for you. Staff is friendly and attentive. My sub was perfect, wish I got a large instead of a medium. Will be back again soo for more!

It’s the little things. The place in downtown Lansing is fine inside the staff greets you when you walk in the store. Also, the food is good, much better than JJ right across the street. However, service is about the little things and this mistake has happened to me twice. I order a side of garlic bread and I just get toasted bread, no lovely garlic butter like it shows on the app. So, it’s just the little things, if the staff doesn’t take the 30 seconds to actually care to make garlic bread then what else are they not doing that I don’t see? Are they always washing their hands or are they changing food options out if they spoil? It’s just the little things like that. I don’t need a refund cause it’s only 75¢ per bread, whatever it’s pocket change, but I’d like to see some actual better service and commitment.

I hate writing poor reviews….but… unfortunately this location has gone downhill fast. I waited writing a review, but nothing has changed in the last 8-12 months. I use to go here regularly 5/6 years ago and it was top notch. Now you walk in and are greeted by glass doors covered in scum, and floor mats caked in debris, neither of which have been cleaned in months. These pics are from Monday late morning, so I was one of the 1st customers, so I cant blame the mess on the “morning rush”. The manager is a super nice guy, and can only work with what he is given I suppose. He always greets you with an attempted smile. Had to fire someone on the spot yesterday while I was there as it is understandably tough to hire/maintain good employees. So Ill give an extra star for him trying his best. But the food as well, has gone downhill. Nothing seems as fresh as it once was, shrinkflation has reached their sandwiches, and quality overall has diminished. And if you do choose to eat there, the eating area is horrible. Again, the floors/tables have not been cleaned in weeks, probably months. And I don’t recommended the restrooms…. The walls have holes in them from where they removed the TV”s a few years ago. And if you choose to grab a soda, I recommend closing your eyes before reaching into the Coke machine…. I would hope corporate realizes that there is potential in “fast food” in Downtown Lansing and puts some extra money into getting things back in order, otherwise this place will be gone before we know it.

Tasty sub but the smoked brisket sub needs something crunchy in it. The bread was crunchy when toasted and soft in the middle. The side salad was better than most. Expensive ($10 for small couple inch long sub, salad, and drink), so I wish the sandwich was bigger

Update after covid. Subs are still amazing. I’ve been in to pick up an online order twice and I no longer see the whole selection of hot sauces they used to have. Regardless the service is always quick, the online portal is super easy to use, and the food is still fantastic. 2022. Ps these are two different trips but the same sandwich. The engineer sandwich is now in my dreams.
Awesome subs. Looooove the selection of hot sauces offered! Cute, quick, decent priced and delicious.

Ordered for 30 people and they had it ready on time and thought of every detail. Pick up was a breeze and everything came packaged really well. 10/10 Willie ordering again!

Always wondered about this place and today (a Saturday) around 3pm I tried it out. Sub was pretty good but I ordered an 8 inch and got something smaller than a subway 6 inch. I told them I thought they had mistakenly given me a 4 inch. No big deal – mistakes happen. But they said it was an 8 inch. There’s no way, it was super tiny. The dude clearly didn’t want to be there and was unhappy. I let it go but I won’t be back.

Firehouse Subs is my number 2 to go for warm delicious subs. Great environment like having meal inside the firehouse, free WiFi and excellent selection of the subs, drinks, chips, cookies and even hot sauce. Free fireman helmet for kids. Handicap accessibility.
