Poor service and a complete rip-off. The $5 “bowl” of chicken dumpling soup had exactly one small dumpling and a half shred of chicken in it. The sub was okay but nowhere near worth the price. Employees seemed extremely mismanaged.

Yesterday we Drove 25mins to walk in the door, and them say they’re closing early and wouldn’t take our order that we were taking to go btw… I suggest calling ahead of time even when they’re open another 45 mins per there hours online.

I walked into the Firehouse Subs on Washtenaw expecting a basic level of customer service. Instead, I was greeted with a sharp, hostile tone: “What are you doing? Pick-up or placing?” No hello. No welcome. No courtesy. Just attitude.

I immediately asked if that’s how Firehouse customarily greets customers. I was told yes.

Here’s the problem: every single customer who walked in after me was greeted warmly with “Hi! Welcome to Firehouse” — smiling, friendly, professional. Not one exception. And it just so happens every one of those customers was white.

So let’s be clear. Either the employee lied to my face about this being “customary,” or Firehouse Subs on Washtenaw has a selective definition of hospitality. Neither option reflects well on this location.

This wasn’t a misunderstanding. It wasn’t subtle. It was a clear contrast in tone, respect, and treatment, and it made me feel unwelcome in a place where my money spends the same as anyone else’s.

If Firehouse Subs claims to value community, professionalism, and respect, this location is failing hard. Customers shouldn’t have to question whether their race determines whether they get a smile or an interrogation.

Do better. Because this experience was unacceptable, unprofessional, and embarrassing for your brand.

Waited 30min+ for an in store order consisting of two sandwiches…when i asked about the progress of my food after 26 mins i was shrugged off and told that i would get my food when i get my food. What!? I just spend good money and my whole lunch break waiting for this? With the level of customer service i received, i will never go back, and urge others to stay away from this location as well!

Thanks to the TMobile promo this week, I got to try Firehouse Subs. I’m not familiar with this chain, nor would I have known about this location.

Ordered the hook and ladder sub, medium size, and did not customize, so that I could taste and review it as is… and I have to say, it was pretty decent! I would go back.

The sub itself warm and toasted. The bread has a nice chew to it and not too crusty that it falls apart after being toasted. Portions of ham plus turkey to veggies, lettuce, tomatoes and onions, were just right. Comes with a pickle on the side.

Ordered in the mobile app and the order was made fresh on time, as stated. The gentleman making the sub was super nice. The rest of the staff friendly and helpful too, greeting customers on entering the store.

Great experience on first visit. Overall, the sub is pretty comparable to other sub shops. Convenient to pick up when you’re in the area.

Normally 10 stars. My husband and I love Firehouse. But this location has had some trouble the last few months. We’ve been understanding, but now it’s been 6 months ( we come usually 2x a month for lunch) and each time has been gradually worse. We understand low staff, busy times. But at this point its push comes to shove. Where’s the owner coming to help out his team? This time we watched 3 orders get cancelled. 2 orders get sent back bc made wrong ( including ours but we didn’t say anything bc of the line) 3 customers were told that their order wasn’t received. And we watched 2 dine-in customers leave before ever ordering. No one was greeting customers. No one was the cash register bc they were all making food. Where’s the owner at to help his team out?

Extremely rude and inattentive staff. Kept me waiting 10 minutes to order without even acknowledging me (there was not a line, but they were busy making orders). The lack of even a “hey we’ll be right with you” was odd. Finally an employee walked to the cash register and just stared at me…no “sorry for the delay, may I get your order?”. I’ve never had an experience like this at a Firehouse Subs.

I’ve already given my review to corporate. This was my first time ordering Firehouse Subs. I did a mobile order for a meatball sub and a cheesesteak sub on gluten-free bread. upon opening the subs I was disappointed in the size comparison, especially because I had to pay extra for gluten-free bread and the bread is smaller than the original wheat bread, which makes it impossible to give the same proper portion of meats and veggies. Most places have a pre-measured amount of meat per sub size. I absolutely hate that I had to pay extra for gluten-free bread and the gluten free option is always the smallest.
