Joey DiBernardo was born into a firefighting family in 1970, the son of Barbara and Joe DiBernardo, a FDNY firefighter. As a child Joey played with toy fire engines and firemen. He would make buildings out of cardboard boxes and carefully position his Engines and Ladders around the boxes spending hours with his toy fire department. Joey would tape record radio transmissions from a fire department scanner and replay the radio traffic as he went about putting out his imaginary fires.

Such a vast menu. It’s one of those places where you have to come back because you need to try other things. I always make sure that if someone’s ordered something I try not to double order it so we can get a taste of everything. This time we did.
After everything we had and all of the meals. The consensus was you have to have the meatballs for the appetizer. They are great! We have the big pretzel as well but the meatballs were just better than everything. That’s how I praise considering all the meals that were on the table.
I think the other one that people really loved was the salmon dish. The marinated steak for sure. The lobster roll was good but I would go with the steak instead. Oh and the French fries everyone loved the French fries that was the other thing that people really commented on at the table.
Atmosphere. It’s really nice how the dining area is separated from the bar area. Although if I were dining here with just two people I would probably choose a high top in the bar area. Or the little cozy blue chairs in the corner with the fire hydrant as a table. I love that little spot.
There’s also an outside back deck area which we didn’t go out to but that looks like a nice place to sit as well. It’s a standalone building so there’s plenty of parking for you.
This is going to be a good place to go watch football for sure They have a lot of TVs and a really nice horseshoe-shaped bar. Lots of seating around.
If you’re a fireman or like fire engines or anything fireman FDNY or any of that related this is the place for you especially if you have kids that love this kind of thing. I noticed that little kids that came in were given a little fireman’s chief hat. As a kid I was obsessed with fire engines. So this would be a go-to for me if you had kids who like that kind of thing. There’s plenty of things to look at
The tributes on the wall to the fallen son of the owners is just a wonderful wonderful thing the entire place is dedicated to his sacrifice and the sacrifice of so many others that hold us safe and time of emergency.
Have the meatballs as an advertiser and have the salmon or steak and you will be pleasantly surprised.
They also had a list of really fun martinis my niece had a pistachio one which I didn’t get a picture of I’m sorry I didn’t because it looked delicious with little chopped up pistachio nuts along the rim. Just a nice touch.
I love the front door handle that it’s a fireman’s hook integrated into the opening. And all the little details in the patches inside Oh you’re going to have a good time just looking around.
Really nice job renovating this!
Congratulations It’s a nice place!
Nice tribute to Joey. You should be very proud.
