Charming… The people are very nice… It really is a cute, on the side street, BYOB “Find”. Our night there was not special, the food was “okay” at best and when we asked our server for simple things (like a side of bread) he seemed truly baffled. My wife and I often split our meals (portion control really) tonight we had a Caesar Salad $12, a Beet Salad $12 and Cavatelli & Broccoli $18. The Beet salad was more like “Jar Beets” over greens and the Cavatelli & Broccoli was maybe over cooked but certainly light on taste. To be honest we really were not there for dinner. We wanted to place a catering order, which we did. I’ll save you all the details but share this. The delivery was on time, we ordered food for 15-18 people and we had plenty. It was well packed and well marked, but like our dinner just lacked real flavor. Add to that the pasta was the wrong sauce. Not life or death, just we didn’t get my kids favorite. In the end, not a bad but not a great place either. In fact I’s say hardly “very good” and today with costs of everything the way they are “very good” is the minimum. I’m sure we’ll try here again, you never know, could just have been the night.

Very tasty! I had the penne alla vodka, and it tasted great with the bread they gave us, but the waiter must have misunderstood because the bread got taken while we were still eating it. A bit disappointing because it tasted really good together, but other than that, the service was good. I didn’t get to try their pizza, but it looked amazing. Would probably come back again.

We had our daughter’s engagement party here and it was a spectacular event!!! The food and service were amazing!!! All of our guests loved the food and the ambiance!!!! The staff was very accommodating and we were not rushed at all !!!! Thanks to Jeremy and his staff who went above and beyond to make this day a memorable event !!!!

Nicky’s Firehouse in Madison is a fantastic spot for a casual meal with friends or family. The service is consistently excellent, and the food is just as good. It’s BYOB, which is always a plus.
We particularly enjoy their pizzas, which we always order well-done—perfectly crispy and flavorful. Their salads are fresh and hearty, and the pasta dishes never disappoint. Whether you’re in the mood for a quick bite or a relaxed meal, Nicky’s is a go-to option in town. Highly recommend!

I wish I could give this place more than 5 stars! From start to finish our experience at Nicky’s was amazing. The new owners, Amanda and Joe, have elevated and improved the decor, the pizza and the menu. We learned that Joe is a chef with many years of restaurant experience and he redid all the menu items. Amanda is the friendliest human on earth… we even heard her talking to the table of teenage girls next to us and making sure they had a ride home (it was after 9pm). The manager, Jeremy, stopped by several times to check on us and was attentive to all of our needs.
The food was out of this world! We got appetizers to share and it was fresh and delicious. The rice balls were crispy on the outside, and perfectly soft and cheesy inside. They came with a delicious meat-sauce. The artichokes Milanese were perfection. Lightly breaded, crispy and delicious. They were paired with a lemon sauce. The fried zucchini was fantastic. A different spin with a thicker cut, but breaded with panko breadcrumbs and a lemon aioli dipping sauce that was unreal.
You have to try this place! It’s also BYOB which helps keep it budget friendly.

Last week we ordered five takeout meals. When we got home, one meal was supposed to be sausage, broccoli rabe & orecchiette in a white wine garlic sauce. What we received was orecchiette and broccoli without the sausage and no broccoli rabe. This is after the order was checked at the counter. A refund was offered after calling and being passed on to two different employees. The food was very expensive and feel at the prices being charged was underwhelming and wrong. Would strongly recommend avoiding.

The new owner was wonderful. We had pizza and I asked her recommendation…she suggested the grandma pizza which was outstanding. My son had pepperoni. Delicious! Food and hospitality were fantastic!

This place was such a cute find! In an area that has so many options, they definitely stood out, much more affordable without compromising any of the great service or delicious food options!! The host was a sweet older gentleman who was extremely attentive, and our waitress was polite and knowledgeable about the menu, overall wonderful service! I had their pesto pasta with salmon, which was super flavorful and very well cooked! We will definitely be back!

I understand inflation but 4.50 for a slice looking like this barely 3 inches wide on top.and because of how thin it was the bottom was completely burnt. I’m fine with the price if the slice is average size and quality I got skimped Other places in Madison for pizza that don’t serve slices like this
