Reviews
I recently checked out the new pizza spot in town. It’s a solid addition to the local scene, offering a refined experience that stands on its own against our usual go tos.
The Bake & Texture:
The technical execution of the crust is impressive. The bottom had an even browning and a nice initial crisp, though the slices still had a slight flop,a great middle ground for those who like a foldable but well baked New York or Neapolitan style. The dough itself had an excellent, satisfying chew.
Flavor Comparisons:
While the quality is high, the flavor profile is more “clean” and understated than its competitors:
Vs. Partner’s: It’s less decadent, lacking that heavy butter and garlic richness.
Vs. Vingenzo’s: It’s missing those punchy, classic Italian herb notes, specifically the fennel and sage.
They use red oak in the oven, which adds a subtle touch without being too “forward” or smoky, allowing the freshness of the ingredients to shine through.
The Experience:
Where this place really wins is the variety and price. The menu is much broader than other local shops, and the drink prices are very fair. It feels like a place where you can settle in for a full meal rather than just a quick slice.
Final Thoughts
I’m a fan of the technique here. I’ll definitely be back soon to try the smoked wings and meatballs to see how they handle the rest of that broad menu.
The pizza was solid with a good crust and quality ingredients, and the service was friendly and efficient even with a crowd. It is the kind of place you can stay longer than planned, especially around sunset when everything lights up.
I was apprehensive at first because Woodstock has several other pizza restaurants, but the menu and flavor are different enough to make this a new regular spot for us.
They can obviously make a great delicious meal, service was friendly.. but their internal systems failed me miserably. 2 times we didn’t eat here because it was so busy, this was not at all a busy day but we were still there over 1 1/2 hours and served the wrong food twice for a $75 lunch. (Yes I was charged for the 16″, not the 12″.
