The sandwich is big so I split it with my husband. So fresh and yum. Would go again!
It was delicious and well worth the trip.
I was finally able to plan ahead and stop in Hoboken on a Thursday at Fiore’s Deli, for the roastbeef and gravy special with some of their fresh mutz and hot peppers. Definitely worth the wait and the sandwich was spot on.
Admittedly the sandwich was a bit messy, but well worth it. Pretty sure extra napkins are a given when the sandwich goes out, but it never hurts to ask for more.
Fiore’s is on Adams Street between 4th and 5th. One of the bonuses of this spot is they have their own parking lot which makes picking up quick and easy.
There is sometimes a wait, but lines move quickly as lots of employees are on hand to move the crowd through. Only downside is they dont have a place to sit and eat, but that is not a big deal for me.
If Roast beef is not your thing, pretty sure you will find something to satisfy your craving.
Even picked up a small container of some fresh mutz for my daughter who is a local student as a nice snack.
Will start with the disclaimer that I am well aware that a trip to Fiore’s Deli should be on a Thursday or Saturday for the hot roast beef, fresh mozzarella, and gravy special, but I happened to be in Hoboken on a Friday.
Fiore’s has been on the bucket list for a while and was able to stop, even though the special was not the hot roastbeef.
Fiore’s had been around since 1913 and is a Hoboken landmark that many make it a point to visit while passing through and is renowned for their home made fresh mozzarella or mutz.
While parking is always an issue in Hoboken, they have their own lot next to the store making it a breeze running inside and grabbing a sandwich before heading back out on the road.
I was able to get in before the lunch rush and the place was hopping. Despite the crowds, it was well managed and everything ran smoothly like a well oiled machine. After all, being in business for over 100 years, you would hope the figured it out by now. Walking through the doors it was as if time was turned back as the deli had a great deal of charm to it which makes trips like this even better. The store was mixed with foodies such as myself as well as long time locals ( as both the customer greeted the staff by name as well as the staff greeting customers by name.) Desite being the obvious outsider, I was treated as if I was a long time customer which felt very welcoming and not something you see all the time.
I ended up ordering a roastbeef, mozzarella, roasted peppers and hot peppers. Not sure if it was my tongue hanging out of my mouth as the mozzarella was being added or just a common practice, but was offered a taste of the fresh mozzarella which was phenomenal. The sandwich was crafted perfectly with a good balance of bread, roastbeef, roasted and hot peppers. I would estimate the total time in the store was probably less than five minutes.
All in all, an excellent experience. I set myself up for some disappointment knowing the hot roast beef was not on the menu, but will definitely have to make a return trip. Definitely worth checking out if in the area or you are looking for Jersey landmarks in the food category.

Roast Beef With Gravy
This large, fulfilling sandwich is packed with roast beef and topped with fresh mutz.
Also included is homemade gravy; this sandwich gets messy so have plenty of napkins handy!
There isn’t any indoor seating, so you can’t eat it there, but you can have it anywhere.
Trust the staff, go with the daily special, but don’t be afraid to tell them what you like.
We got a chicken cutlet and Italian sandwich but everything on the menu looked incredible. Everything is made right in front of you so you know you’re getting the best.
Will stop here anytime I’m in the area.
FYI they don’t have seating. there’s some outside benches around you can sit at if you’re looking to eat right away, weather permitting.
