Such a good time at Finz tonight. Firstly everyone at the restaurant was extremely welcoming and friendly. Especially our waiter Alex who really added a nice personable touch. The food was amazing. We’re Brits and hands down the best fish and chips we’ve had in Aus/NZ. (We had the blue cod) Seared Tuna loin also highly recommend. Also remember to book in advance because it was very busy!

We had a wonderful dining experience here.
We started with scallops as our entrée. While waiting for the main courses(and taking photos), the scallops cooled down a little bit, so we asked if they could be gently reheated for about 10 seconds. To our surprise, the kitchen kindly prepared a completely new dish for us instead（such a thoughtful and generous gesture that genuinely touched us.）
Every dish was outstanding. Cooked to perfection, showing great skill and attention to detail from the chef. The presentation was also visually delightful.
Our waitress, Nadine, was absolutely lovely. She was patient, warm, and genuinely kind (not the kind of politeness that feels forced). As a highly sensitive person, I could actually tell sincerity from people’s eyes and micro expressions, and Nadine truly made us feel comfortable and cared for. We felt completely at ease asking her anything.
Although my mother’s cellphone got stolen earlier in Queenstown CBD, which left us feeling quite low, this Chinese New Year dinner became a beautifully gentle highlight of our New Zealand journey. Thank you for such a memorable evening.

We were served by Nadine, she was extremely friendly and polite. Answered some of our queries regarding the food options and gave us good advice. We ordered the seafood platter, they were served pretty promptly. Every food option was great, we wished that the batter used for the fish would have a stronger taste to it. Overall, we had a pleasant evening and truly enjoyed the food. Highly recommended.

We came across this restaurant by accident – but what a brilliant accident it turned out to be! It was very busy for a weekday, but luckily we managed to grab a table. We shared the seafood platter and each ordered a main. The portions were just right, and most importantly, the food was absolutely delicious. Fresh, well-prepared, and full of flavour. The real highlight of the night, though, was the service. Our waiter, Alex, was incredibly friendly and welcoming – truly the cherry on top of a great evening. Would definitely recommend and happily come back again!

Nadine is a wonderful server and we had a great meal under her care at Finz. Food was excellent and courses were served at timely cadence. The fresh baked cob loaf, yellow fin sashimi, and all the locally caught fish mains were delicious! The Sticky Toffee Pudding dessert is also worth indulging. Thanks for a lovely evening!

I’ve visited this restaurant twice, and both experiences were excellent. On my first visit, Nicolas looked after us and provided attentive, friendly, and professional service. On my second visit, Nadine was just as wonderful—welcoming, knowledgeable, and made us feel very comfortable.
The food on both occasions was absolutely amazing, beautifully prepared, and full of flavor. Consistency like this really makes the place stand out. Highly recommended, and I’ll definitely be coming back.

Great seafood (and some 4 meat dishes with 2 vegetarian options) restaurant on the water surrounded by other venues. Pretty central QT location, vibrant, great bar and great service. Special shoutout to the peppiest, most helpful member of staff Rosie, who was an absolute gem.
The food was varied and well proportioned, with the solw being a hidden delight. The fish and chips was also quite large and delicious, batter being not too thick or cloying. The seafood chowder was rather middling and lacking in zest, and thd sashimi was cut in rather creative ways. The meat dish was well cooked. Overall, the only thing that removed a star from the whole is the price – it is closer to 100 dollars per person, and that is being frugal. Which wouldn’t be an issue if the quality corresponded to the food. But I guess you also pay for the location and you can be part of the chosen few to sit at the wharfside.
Great cocktails too. If budget is not an issue, recommend.

By the water, super friendly service. Market fish of the day and ceviche were extremely good. We also got the scallops, chowder, and side veggies and everything was delicious. We were well taken care of by Lucy, who also gave a great wine recommendation (the Odyssey! Pricey but worth it.)

Still good but fell short of expectation. My seafood pasta was a bit too oily for my taste. At best, a B +. The Ahi tuna dish was better executed. Great local Pinot Noir recommendation by Ty. Thank you. The wine might actually be the best part of our dinner. Mondillo PN is excellent with nice tannins.
I am revising it from 4 to 5 stars because these 2 Pinots are truly superb in comparison to others we tried during our trip. Just be aware of the tight quarters of their table set up. Definitely affects your dining experience but then, you are in Queenstown

The fish and chips were perfectly crispy on the outside and tender inside, and the fish of the day was incredibly fresh and full of flavor.

On top of that, the view was absolutely stunning. The scenery alone makes this place worth visiting, and combined with the amazing food and excellent service, it was an unforgettable experience.
