Stopped in here for dinner during a recent coast trip. It’s a cute little place in kind of a loft space over a bakery, so we were momentarily confused when we arrived and the building appeared to be closed. Just head up one of the external staircases! We were there fairly early in the evening so it was nice and quiet. The kitchen is downstairs and all the food comes up via a dumbwaiter, which was kind of fun to see. The menu ended up being more limited than what’s shown online, which was a tad disappointing (no steamer clams, sadly). But we ordered some of the clam chowder, and I’m dead serious when I say it may be the best chowder I’ve ever had. It was thick and hearty and filling, with a great variety of flavors. It’s been a week since I was there and I’m still thinking about it.

Terrific little place overlooking the mouth of the Rogue River. The most amazing house made claim chowder and the chef makes his own blue cheese dressing… so delicious. The place to eat in Gold Beach
