Finney’s Crafthouse is a family-owned American tavern that brings upscale cooking to casual dining. Finney’s is the place to go when you’re looking for great local beers, hand-crafted cocktails, and an extensive menu of high-quality food – all in a fun, casual, high-energy setting. Our globally-inspired menu features more than 50 made-from-scratch favorites. Finney’s San Luis Obispo is settled right in the center of historic downtown SLO. Featuring all your favorite Finney’s staples, this site houses the largest bar of all five Finney’s locations. Also unique to the San Luis Obispo restaurant, are the original 90-year-old brick walls and large roll-up doors that create the ultimate indoor/outdoor dining experience.

Well it was my daughter’s birthday so she wanted to go here. It took over 15 minutes after we were seated, before we even got asked what would we like to order. Jr was an awesome server and kinda made up for sitting there wondering if anyone would come and get our order, and as we were there two gentlemen were seated next to us in within minutes they had a sever. Not sure who is at fault for us having to wait 15 minutes before we got asked what would we like. Jr was kind and helpful he didn’t charge us for the cookie and scoop of ice cream for my daughter’s birthday. It’s a shame because we would have come back for dinner after the movie but after such a long wait for just some appetizers and 4 drinks. We went to Firestone where we knew we get immediate service. This was second time here. And the first time was awesome but that was back in 2019. Clearly service has gone down. The coconut shrimp was good the ahi tacos for which we only got three in an order was fair. I can’t say that I can recommend this place because apparently it depends on how you look to get immediate service.

Awesome Craft Beers. Food is excellent. Strongly recommend the Moroccan salad with chicken and the Tri tip tacos are also great. MANY IPAs to choose from and their Double Headed Mountain Goat Nitro Imperial Stout is FANTASTIC. Service is also quick, professional, friendly. Large TVs for Sports events. Right in the heart of Downtown SLO, paid street parking all around. HIGHLY RECOMMEND!

I’ve been to Finney’s two or three times and have enjoyed coming. The TV’s are usually playing football or other sports and it is very lively inside. The hosts and waiters are friendly and energetic. I think some of the food can be on the pricier side for the quantity you get, but overall it taste good and is a nice getaway in downtown SLO. If you haven’t been to Finney’s it is a must visit!

The burgers were cooked to our liking and were really good. So much flavor! Got the truffle fries and western burger. They did not skimp on seasoning for the fries and burger was juicy. The raspberry lemonade was great too. Not too sweet or bitter.

This is a cool place to eat and grab a beer. The atmosphere is casual and lively, but not too loud. They have a wide variety of beer types including some of their own brand. I got a maple brown and it was delicious. My wife and I shared the carnitas nachos and they were awesome! The service was good, quick, and very friendly. I usually don’t care too much about the decor, but I really liked the photos throughout.

When I walked into Finney’s Crafthouse, it really screamed, “This is America!”—and I mean that in the best way.
Food: The burgers were excellent, with soft, buttery buns and flavorful meat options. Even the Impossible Burger was packed with flavor. The house-made chips that came with the burgers were freshly fried and perfectly salted.
Service: Our waitress (I think her name was Brie) was full of energy and incredibly patient, especially when helping us with vegetarian options. She was fantastic—honestly, she deserves a raise!
Atmosphere: The vibe is very American, with cowboy and sporty touches. It’s lively and a great spot for get-togethers.
Overall, I’d definitely come again. The service was top-notch, the sides were crispy, and the burgers were flavorful. A solid spot all around!

Great food, but long wait. Onion ring tower was very tasty and the salad had a interesting lime, zesty flavor that brought it together and it was very filling. Lots of space inside and outside but they are limited by the speed of the kitchen so there is almost always a 40 min to one hour wait time. It’s definitely worth it though and the restaurant has a nice atmosphere. Personally, the cocktails were pricey for the amount of alcohol given but a nice selection as well as the varieties of beer.
