The menu had a lot of Irish style appetizers and entrees. I ordered the Reuben sandwich that came with tasty corned beef, dressing sauerkraut and cheese in toasted rye. I liked the sandwich. My family also got the fish and chips, chicken tenders and veggie sheperd’s pie. Those were somewhat disappointing. The fried fish was decent, but chicken tender and the sheperd’s pie didn’t have the taste I was expecting.
The service was good. Our server was friendly. But the food took like 20 minutes to come out. The prices were high too as expected.
When it comes to the food, it was pretty average overall. Some dishes — like the fish and chips and a few appetizers — were tasty, but a few entrees felt a bit under-seasoned or lukewarm at times, and portion sizes seemed inconsistent compared to what we expected.
Service was decent but felt slower during peak crowds, which made the meal take longer than we hoped. All in all, it’s a solid stop if you want a casual spot with good drinks and a fun vibe, but the food quality wasn’t quite enough to make this a must-return place for us.
The moment we stepped in, the atmosphere felt warm and lively — a mix of vintage Irish charm and the cheerful buzz of people relaxing after their adventures. The place was full but not chaotic. Wooden furniture, cozy lighting, and old-school décor gave it a nostalgic, welcoming vibe.
We ordered two dishes to share:
Red Dragon Burger – juicy, flavorful, and perfectly cooked, served with thick-cut fries, crispy on the outside and soft inside. The bun was buttery and soft, and the topping — a crispy onion stick — added a nice crunch. It was classic, satisfying, and exactly what I hoped for in a theme park meal.
Bangers & Mash – true to its Irish roots. The sausages were rich and savory, placed over creamy mashed potatoes and topped with caramelized onions and a touch of gravy. Comfort food at its best — hearty, simple, and absolutely delicious.
We paired the meal with a glass of Harp Draft Beer, light and refreshing — the perfect choice for a lazy afternoon break.
Everything came together beautifully: the food, the cozy pub atmosphere, the friendly service, and the view of people passing by outside. It was such a pleasant pause from the rides and crowds — a moment to just sit, eat, and enjoy being part of the Universal magic.
By the time we left, the place was getting even busier, with the sound of laughter and clinking glasses filling the air. I could easily imagine this as the kind of pub where people unwind after a long day — just like we did.
If you ever find yourself hungry inside Universal Studios, skip the quick snacks and come here instead. Finnegan’s isn’t just a restaurant — it’s part of the experience.
“Good food, good beer, and the kind of warmth that makes a theme park day feel complete.” ✨
We had a reservation and had to wait about 15 minutes after our arrival time to get a table.
Food:
* Drunken Mussels – the best part of the meal – excellent portion size for two people to share, really good flavor. The only thing we would have liked was more bread to dip in the sauce – only includes two pieces. The waitress did bring us two more pieces, but said that was all she would be able to get us.
* Guinness Beef Stew – good flavor but the portion is small for the price. The bowl is probably about 1.5 cups (maybe two) and contains probably six pieces of beef.
* Shepherd’s Pie – good-sized portion, LOTs of cheddar cheese to make the crust and decent flavor (but not great). The cheese can overwhelm the flavor.
Service: We had a great waitress and support staff. Once seated, we had two people stop by to make sure we had our drink order taken.
Overall this is “average” and on par for Universal Studios. Hopefully when they remodel they update the menu.
Our waiter was cool and accommodating. We ordered the Potato and Onion Webb as a starter and it was pretty good. Then we got the Fish & Chips and the Bangers & Mash. The fish was juicy and flavorful with yummy, salted fries. My sis enjoyed the bangers & mash, but she felt the sausage could’ve been cooked more.
Other than that, it was a pretty good experience.
I ordered the salmon with salad and quinoa, and I absolutely loved it—fresh, well-seasoned, and super satisfying. The girls got the salmon sandwich, and they really enjoyed it too.
The only downside was that my Apple Pay card didn’t work on their machine, so I had to borrow some cash from a friend. But other than that, everything was great!
