Stopped in on a Sunday for a veggie combo sub to take with me to eat at Looking Glass Falls. The owner or manager was delightful and struck up a pleasant conversation with me. Another staff member was nice enough to fill my water bottle and add ice. Seems small but I’ve had people refuse that before and it was so helpful later to have some refreshing cold water. The restaurant is small and cute with indoor and outdoor seating in the vibrant west Asheville area. Menu is focused and reasonably priced. My sandwich was delicious! The sesame seed bun is the perfect choice adding nuttiness to the flavor profile and being sturdy enough to not have a soggy sandwich an hour away at the waterfall. I actually finished the sandwich later on my way back home to Virginia and it was still not soggy. A rare feat with veggie sandwiches. If I am ever in Asheville again I’ll definitely be going back.

Mike Bean, the owner, has created a place that feels like a bridge between two worlds. You get that classic NYC corner-store buzz, but with the grounded, neighborly kindness that makes Asheville what it is. It’s the kind of spot where you’re treated like you belong, even on your first visit.
The food? Legit. The Bodega BEC is dialed in perfectly. American cheese melted just right, eggs cooked the way they should be, and that salty bacon on a Kaiser that tastes like somebody cared. It’s the ultimate “headed into the office” breakfast. And the roast turkey sandwich with provolone, lettuce, tomato, Lusty Monk mustard, and Duke’s on sourdough? That one hits your Asheville heart. Simple, honest, and ridiculously good.
Finn, Mike, and the entire team pour so much love and craft into this place, and it shows in every detail. West Asheville is lucky to have them. If you haven’t been, go. If you have been, you already know why this spot keeps pulling you back.

I can’t recommend Finest enough! We had the best lunch here, sandwhiches were insane!!! We got the Turkey and Italian and both were really amazing, everything is made with fresh ingredients and done so thoughtfully. I really love the way Finest looks too, there are so many authentic and genuine touches throughout, you can tell a lot of love went into everything single thing ☺️definitely my new favorite spot, can’t wait to try breakfast!

I had no idea today was the grand opening. But boy am I glad I stopped by! My husband and I had our dog with us and we were so happy to see there was covered outdoor seating! My husband got the working man special, which was a sandwich chips and a Miller highlife for $15! Talk about such a deal. I got the Italian and the dill potato salad. Both of us enjoyed every single bite. Nothing was too oily or greasy and the potato salad was amazing as well. The portions are good and the quality of everything in the sandwich and the bread was all amazing too! While we were sitting outside the owner came out and introduced himself. He was very kind and friendly and I truly hope to see this place thrive because I would love to continue to come here for many years to come! Totally worth every penny and you won’t leave hungry! We will be back very soon!

What a wonderful new addition to West AVL! Our fam went in for breakfast sandwiches, and the Bodega sandwich delivered! So delicious. It is very cool that they use all local farms as they can for ingredients, too. Can’t wait to try their dinner menu! A great deal, too. $8 for a sandwich and coffee!! The atmosphere is super cozy.

I had the red wine vinegar chicken with polenta as they rolled out their first dinner service, and boy was I floored. Flavors keeping me excited about the next bite, but not overwhelmed, these chefs constantly knock my socks off!! Greeted by the owner who was able to tell us all about how each dish came to be. I had not found a place in Asheville that felt so classy and clean, while having such a familial feel. Whether it’s a quick breakfast or date night, these guys kill it!!!
